I have bought 2 of the bluetooth versions of this remote to use with my Nvidia Shield. Just make sure you go into your Shield settings and turn off Bluetooth LE Privacy. With this setting turned off, the remote will stay paired. Great remote for the price and I like being able to hit a button for a cursor, better volume control than the stock Shield remote and overall just a sturdier remote than the stock one.Edited to add: to pair device hold down the volume down button and page down button at the same time while in pairing mode with the device you are pairing it with.

I bought this because I have 5 Amazon Fire TV sticks currently set up. Problem is between my wife & kid, I keep losing remotes. I've only got 2 sticks with remotes right now. Amazon doesn't sell just the remotes at a decent price. if you want to buy a replacement remote you have to basically pay the same price as you'd pay for the firestick. Except Lord knows I don't need another firestick. So I ordered this one. Why? Because it's Bluetooth and it says it works with Nvidia shield. I have seen people that have Nvidia shield have used Amazon firestick remotes. I saw in the questions people asking if it would work with firestick. The answer was yes. So I thought I'd give it a go in order this from China. Took weeks to get here. The remote does not come with any sort of instructions. So instantly you're confused on what to do. After figuring out how to pair the Bluetooth I tried everything under the sun to get the remote to pair to the firestick. I tried more than one firestick. I tried second generation. I tried brand new 4k fore stick. Just won't pair. So I came here and asked the question on if anyone had lick & if so how. I got answers from non Fire Stick people telling me how to set remote in pairing mode. Not 1 person said they actually had a Fire Stick & got it to work. So now the remote sits here useless. I guess it was worth a shot. for the life of me I don't understand why Amazon can't sell a replacement remote for like 5 or 10 bucks.

When this remote works, it works really well. But the Bluetooth will randomly disconnect. Sometimes it's after an hour or after a day. When it disconnects, the only way to get it to work again is to remove it from Shields list of Bluetooth devices and add it all over again.BTW, to get it into pairing mode, you need to hold down the volume down and channel down buttons together for 4 seconds.I hear the wireless version that uses a USB dongle works really well, I should have gotten that version.

The stock remote is old, the battery isn't quite taking a good charge or lasting that long. There's no way to replace the battery. Came across this in a Reddit forum. Works like a charm. Runs on AAA batteries. No rechargeable to worry about. The buttons are very tactile and feel good for such an inexpensive remote. I would double up if I could find another one. All buttons work great. Microphone works great as well.

The remote seems to randomly enter a mode where it will not send commands to my Nvidia shield. With every key press the remote light pulsates and nothing happens on the shield. It is still paired because the shield can still read its power level, but the only way I can get it out of them mode is to remove the batteries for several seconds, reinstall and put it in pairing mode, then abort pairing mode. Maybe if the company would put out some instructions I would have an idea of what it is doing.

Once you paired the remote control it works great, but when you turn off the TV and try to turn it on the next day it does not work; you have to pair the remote control again.

Excellent bluetooth remote for the Shield TV or any Android TV box. All the buttons work the way they are supposed to work, except the page up/down button which is probably for PCs. This remote is a very good replacement to the one that comes with the Shield TV. See my pictures and video.Good price and shipped relatively quick from China.

This remote will not stay connected via bluetooth.I could pair it easily but it would disconnect randomly, sometimes in less than 2 minutes and sometimes it might make it an hour.I tried it on my shieldtv box andmy minix x8 plus with the same result.I also have the 2.5ghz version and it works great,I was trying to free up a usb port in buying the bt version but with no luck.
