Either way, the price of this edition is considerably lower than the original, which is out of print anyway. The images in the book are "media mix" artwork for everything from movie posters, theatrical program books, etc. for the three Rebuild movies that had come out at the time of original Japanese publication, to plastic model ("plamo") kit box covers, to Eva-themed coffee cans and fashion apparel. There are even several "Godzilla x Evangelion" pieces created by various artists to commemorate the fact that Evangelion's lead creator Anno Hideaki also co-directed (with fellow Eva collaborator Higuchi Shinji) the most recent Japanese Godzilla movie during the time period covered by this book. Some fans will particularly enjoy seeing the "kawaii" Sanrio mutations of the lead Eva characters as well as similarly cute versions of the "angels" (the monsters of the series) created for merchandising in the official Japanese Evangelion Store. It's a very thorough book that any fan of the Rebuild series of films will enjoy. For the most part the text simply explains the provenance of each illustration, including the name of the artist who created it. This will be of particular value to hardcore fans who enjoy picking at the stylistic differences between the various artists who have over the years created their own personal takes on Sadamoto Yoshiyuki's original character designs.

Great Eva artbook
I bought this kinda on a whim expecting to be disappointed. Man, it's SO WORTH IT. Gorgeous printing, interesting art, will make you feel things.

Massive book, really nicely done.
Absolutely massive book, both in size and page count. Totally exceeded my expectations. The art inside is fascistic. Tons of images I’ve never seen before. Love the page after page of the kids in school or casual clothes, and in matsuri getup. Can’t believe this book was only twenty dollars. If you like Eva even a little bit you should get this book. Having everything in English is just a bonus. Viz is putting some great stuff out. Wish they’d do more like this one!

Consegna puntuale come al solito, imballaggio perfetto: il libro non ha presentato nessuna piega! Un must have per tutti i fan di Evangelion, soprattutto rapportando il prezzo alla quantità di disegni presente.

Es bastante largo, muchas páginas y tamaño superior al A4. Gran variedad de arte, sobretodo de Rebuild of Evangelion, pero también hay partes de NGE. Tiene diferentes ilustraciones que se han utilizado en campañas, anuncios, concept Arts. Muy recomendable para cualquier fan que le guste este tipo de articulos. It is quite long, many pages and larger than A4. Great variety of art, especially from Rebuild of Evangelion, but there are also parts from NGE. It has different illustrations that have been used in campaigns, advertisements, concept arts... Highly recommended for any fan who likes this type of articles.

Wow, el libro es más de lo que esperaba, es enorme y tiene muy buena calidad, tanto de material como de impresión, el papel es de buen gramaje, de hecho pensaba que estaba pasando de a dos hojas, contiene muchísimas ilustraciones de distintos artistas de la época Rebuild y, por supuesto, de Sadamoto que siempre son mis preferidas. Ahora lo malo, el libro venía en una caja donde entraba justo, estaba golpeada y por lo tanto el libro llegó maltratado, no tanto como me ha sucedido con otras publicaciones, pero para un producto así uno espera abrir su artículo con el empaque original, de hecho se sentía lleno de polvo y las palabras en relieve están rayadas, no se otros clientes, pero que haya llegado dos días antes no creo que justifique esto. En fin, el libro es excelente (aunque si lo hubieran hecho con pasta dura...) y por ello le doy 5 estrellas.
