Improve Your Opening Leads (Master Bridge Series) Paperback – Illustrated, September 10, 2009

Klinger may not be as well known in this country as other bridge experts but his knowledge of the game and ease of communicating its concepts make his works stand out.

I found this paperback to be light on real content and just loaded up with examples. Not a good buy.

The title tells what it might do for you. Pitched at the average player you are getting useful advice from Ron Klinger (the top writer of bridge books in my opinion). Its about the same level as the EBU Really Easy Defence but concentrates entirely on leads - something we all need to put more effort into. Remember your side defends 50% of the time you are playing.

Cheaply published on poor quality paper & doesn’t explain things nearly as well as in his early books.

中級者向き。 オープニングリードも、いろいろな定石がありますが、定石通りリードしても１００％良い結果が得られるわけではありません。 しかし、基本的な考え方を理解して、状況判断の訓練をすれば、良い結果が得られる確率が高いリードを選ぶことができるようになります。 実際のハンドが５６掲載されていますが、著者の説明に都合の良いハンドを選んでいるように思われます。 多くの実績に基づいた成功率のデータがなく、新しい発想もありません。
