Tom vs. the Volcano God: The Sea Nymphs: Book 1 Kindle Edition

Marilyn posts a rather long diatribe/warning at the beginning of each of her books. She claims that these books are about truly extra-ordinary men who end up in extremely sexual situations.Well, her warning is correct. The stories do have surprising men of great normal-ness and averageness when it comes to personality and presence, but who are unnaturally wealthy and who get fawned over by passionate "women" who seem to have no personality beyond "must have sex with the main character".Its not really romantic and for me its an example of the worst of the harem tropes taken nearly to an absurd level.And yet, this was not hte first book of her's I purchased. The first one did bother me a bit, but appeared to have a story, so I was able to become engaged with the tale. This one is not that good. The main character is a work-from-home type who receives what I can only call a "fem-bot" in the male from his uncle, and then it quickly spirals towards bad fan fic orgy territory with the main character acquiring more and more girls with seemingly little to no effort. After a while the tale just bored me.THis is not to say Marilyn is a bad author, her style is engaging and I caught few errors. Its more that the level of the tropes and the frequency they are trotted out removed all character development and obscured the plot.SO her warning is valid. She's writing for a very particular subset of the reading public. I could overlook her style decisions in one book, but I couldn't here. So I leave it at 3 stars. Someone will like it and its not actually terrible, but its definitely not going to be something I read again.

The best way I can describe this book is leave it to beaver with a dash of bad seventies porn. I always give authors two chances this is the second and last , both books, especially this one are so ridiculous that it’s painful to read, it would have to rise several levels to be awful. I think this author needs a dose of real life..

This was fun to read. A bit off the wall in places and the characters were ..... let’s just say, interesting. Not sure about Sandy though. She really seemed to lose its at the end. Have to read book two just to see how she turns out.

Where do I find book two? Really enjoy all the tech stuff and the interactions but unable to find the next book. If you could please leave a clue or something for the next book in the series. Than you

I have enjoyed this wonderful heartfelt story of Tom Robby brother that learning after his wife that died that he could love again.

Well written and edited. Good that Tom gets included in Robbie's good fortune. Volcano God adventure very good, different approach.

I read this then moved on to book two before writing this review.Which is most important - to be super rich or be loved by a bevy of beautiful women? How about both?

As with the other storylines, I very much enjoyed this one. While it is similar to the others, the problems and problem solving are different, so enjoy!

I am avid reader, 200-400 novels, so yeah I know good, and I know bad.The premise has promise, the guy’s brother gets rich (somehow), he gets sent a woman (never cleared up what she is), and next thing you know he’s off on a trip to a tropical island to be with his brother.I tried to finish this book, but it was so bad I couldn’t, you want to know why?Let’s see no character descriptions, no character development, actions that make no sense!Literally as the main male character and his (wife/girl friend/sex robot) fly to see his brother the three women he’s flying with throw themselves at him. No reason besides the story requires it. I mean short of what they do with their cloths you have no real clue about how they look.I was 75% of the way through this thing, when I threw in the towel. It was that bad/confusing. I ended up feeling lost, like literally what is the freaking end game here? What is the point?Take this as some free and open advice, even if you are on Amazon’s unlimited program, avoid this book at all costs!
