Great story. Grandson loves Fire Trucks and Fire Stations.

Between a 4-year-old who is currently obsessed with racing and a 2-year-old who spends his days dressed as a firefighter, this book is basically the centerpiece of our bedtime routine. Curious George is a hoot as always, but this specific "Lap Edition" is what makes it a standout. The size is significantly larger than your standard board book—it’s roughly 11x9 inches—which makes it much easier for two kids to crowd around and see the illustrations while sitting on my lap. The durability of these oversized, sturdy pages is a huge plus; they don't bend or tear when a toddler gets a little too enthusiastic about turning the page to see the big red truck. In terms of ease of use, the large format makes the classic, detailed illustrations really pop. It’s a simple, fun story that holds their attention without being too long for a quick read before bed. If you have a little one who loves fire trucks or is just a fan of George’s brand of mischief, this edition is definitely worth the extra couple of bucks over the tiny version. It’s built to last and perfect for sharing.

My husband is a fireman and loved me getting this book. A cute bonding experience for him and our son. Husband loves to read it to him and my son, loves it. The pictures are nice and colorful, well made book. Keeps him interested. Good book to add to collection

The book is good, and my granddarlings enjoy it. But my advice is to get the book rather than the Kindle version. The Kindle formatting is less than wonderful. In some cases the text shows up in the font and size you've chosen; in other places it shows up in such teeny-tiny type that even the kids can't read it, let alone an old woman like me. Zooming in doesn't help the type at all; it will make some illustrations big enough to see detail in, but not all of them. I like having kids' books on my Kindle; it has helped out in a number of little emergencies when the kids could no longer cope with waiting for whatever it was we were waiting for -- a table in the restaurant, a minor car repair, an appointment of some sort, the errand their mother was running. Unless you're familiar with the book, though, and can fill in from memory all the places you can't read in the Kindle text, this one is just going to frustrate you and the kids. UPDATE: This books shows up very well in the Kindle Cloud Reader on my iPad. The illustrations are easy to see and the text is all readable.

My three year old loves George and seeing as it's so hard to find merchandise or even toys that actually look like George and cheap, I decided that instead of the dvd's i'll buy the books. These are the perfect length to read at bedtime and i'm sure my little boy will enjoy the activity at the back as well.
