desertcart.com: Sword Art Online 2: Aincrad (light novel) eBook : Kawahara, Reki, Paul, Stephen: Kindle Store Review: An Emotional Joy Ride. - Wow what an emotion ride this book was. Sword Art Online : Volume 1 was such an amazing light novel. I absolutely loved it. Though there was a big time jump at the beginning of the book. Volume 2 definitely helps to fill it in. This book is not a continuation but are the side quests of Kirito told from other character's point of view. At first I was hesitant to read it cause I wanted the continuation but once I picked it up i did not put it down. I read it in one reading. I must say how emotional it was. I laughed & cried. I'm a 30 year old man with a heart of stone so if this book can touch my heart the way it did then I know it will touch your heart as well. The characters that you're introduced to in this book you immediately can't help but love. It's told from their point of view and they talk about their encounter with Kirito from their point of view. Which is actually really fun cause you get to see how mysterious Kirito really is and also how bad ass he really is. The last story is told from Kiritos point of view and you get to see the struggles that he's going through with the game of Sword Art Online. And wow, I can't help but say how emotional it was. The writer makes you really feel for him. Infact, the writer really makes you feel for all the characters. What an amazing job the writer did with this book. I wasn't too thrilled with my expectations for the 3rd book cause I haven't read it yet but the premise didn't seem too promising. Though after reading the first 2 books, especially volume 2, I now have complete faith in this writer and trust that my expectations for the third book will not only be met but be far exceeded then what I can even imagine. Now I'm on to read book 3. Review: Well written and colorful! - I acquired volume 1 from another seller, but ordered book two from here. From being translated from japanese to english, the writing is extremely colorful and easy to understand. It is more like imagining the words than just reading them. From both books, I could not tear myself away from them, I even went as far as to reading them again, and again. I watched the series twice and found out what the anime made up and left out. Looking back on it, I found that the books have a more solid storyline that makes sense and does not really contradict itself. The anime did in some areas if you pay attention and for someone like me who notices details, that was really annoying. Another thing I loved about this book and the last was that I could see the motives, thoughts, and ideas in the story that made each event more of an impact than something spontaneous. You even learn things about the video game itself that the anime never told you. This book is totally worth the price along with book one. Can't wait for the third book to be released!

Four Excellent Novellas
The second light novel in Reki Kawahara's Sword Art Online series is very different than the first, but in some ways even better. The first novel was a standalone story, not even intended to become a series. Book two is a set of 4 novellas that he added to fill in some of the time-skip that was present in the first novel. One major criticism of the first novel with that time-skip, was that the lead character, Kirito, did not get to experience a character arc showing him changing as he spent years inside of the Virtual World. Book 2 helps to fix this by showing him at different points, experiencing friendship, happiness, family, and sorrow. It is also different with two of the four novellas being written from different points of view. If you are familiar with the Anime, these four were all interwoven into the plot from the first book. Personally, I find they work better on their own. Here's a brief summery and review of each one. 1. The Black Swordsman - Written from the point of view of a young girl, Silica, the story is about the loss of her dragon companion and the boy who helps her in a quest to revive it. 8/10 - Well written with an interesting twist at the end. 2. Warmth of the Heart - Written from the point of view of an older girl, Lisbeth, this story contains much humor and the start of romance while on an adventure to find materials to construct an exceptional sword. 9/10 - A story that can make you laugh and cry with what might have been. 3. The Girl in the Morning Dew - Set between chapters 17 and 18 of the first novel while Kirito and Asuna are resting on a lower floor after their in game marriage, this story starts as a slice of life tale before jumping into the mysterious appearance of a young child in the middle of the woods. 6/10 - The story drags a bit in my opinion, but it sets up a recurring character who has a greater impact in the next book. 4. Red-Nosed Reindeer - In chapter 14 of the first book, we were introduced to Kirito's first guild, the Moonlit Black Cats, and the girl he cared about, Sachi. Those 2 pages are expanded here along with a special Christmas quest. The story more than any other explains Kirito in a way that no other does. 10/10 - Simply amazing. This story is what made me love this series. Incredible.

In this LN of SAO, it covers three adventures of Kirito as he comes across few people such as Lizbeth and Silica who later as we all know become top characters of the SAO World . Frankly speaking after I watched the anime I didn't think buying this light novel was necessary but guess what? I was wrong. Although I have watched the anime, the book offers views from each player's point of view too like Silica. There is much more emotions in the book in comparison to the anime. Secondly, although SAO progressive is out but then also I suggest to buy these classic opening series and read it before Progressive. If you know the base here then you will enjoy progressive much more as it deals with the in-depth.This Volume laid down the foundation of friendship between Kirito and his fellows. This book is quite good in comparison to the price of Rs.163 for which I got it.( I know you may find it hard to believe but it's true and the book was NEW without ANY DAMAGE!🤪). A complete steal deal if you ask me. Would like to thank U-Read for the amazing deal👍.

Great read, gives you much more detail and the thoughts of the characters compared with the anime. Highly recommend to those who like SAO with more in depth.

Ma mi è piaciuto tanto. Letto dopo avere guardato l'anime con mio figlio, c'è molto di più sul mondo di Aincrad e sui protagonisti e ha soddisfatto la mia curiosità. Ora leggerò il primo progressive. Consigliato.
