You can play your old CDs in it :)
Got it to play my old CDs, Haven't tested it as a DVD player.We have a DVD player hooked to the TV.Works like a charm.Good for the price it is on Amazon and the cables are straight forward too.

It makes a lot of noise when the disc is spinning
Very noisy sounds like disc is scraping on the insides.

Don't bother with this as this started falling to pieces after less than a week ... Sending back for a refund

Although had it a month it started shaking on seccond use and won't play.
It only worked once then started vibrating and now won't work since I've had it a month the window for return has been closed

Compatibility
I wanted to use this device with a Linx tablet and needed a USB 2.0 model. Unfortunately I discovered that it would only work with Windows7 or 8. It DOES NOT WORK with Windows 10.
