McCann's Irish Oatmeal Instant Oatmeal Cup, Maple Brown Sugar, 1.9 Ounce (Pack of 12)

I've tried many brands of steel cut oats, but none have the old-fashioned authentic flavor like McCann's, in my opinion. Although it takes a long time to gently cook until thickened, it's worth every minute because it ends up with a chewy texture instead of mushy. I cook double the amount given in the instructions and then store in zip bags in frig and it lasts all week. I eat a bowlful almost every morning with sliced bananas and/or blueberries topped with walnuts and then pour a little maple syrup on the top to sweeten, delicious (and keeps me "regular").PS- At end of week if I have any oatmeal left in the bag, I mix in an egg, little flour, peanut butter, little melted butter, tad of honey or syrup and then scoop spoonfuls onto greased baking pan and bake as cookies. It makes a great, healthy snack.

These oats have a great flavor and texture a bit chewy. I made them in my instant pot pressure cooker. Cook them five minutes and let the pressure release naturally for 10 minutes I used one cup of oats and 3 cups of water a pinch of salt. They were the best oats ever, I’m glad I bought them. I assume the tin is recyclable so I like that it will keep them very fresh and dry until I’ve use them all.

I am a huge fan of steel cut oatmeal. I love the texture and the taste. Regular oatmeal is just too much like mush for my senses.I have used multiple different brand, but none matches the high quality and consistency of this brand. The oatmeal is a large grain with great flavor and consistency. It cooks up into a delicious meal that does not suffer from poor grinding techniques.The only thing I do not like is the ecological issue of a large steel can. I have called the company and requested a bag or pouch container that is less toxic to the environment. They inform me that no such option is available irrespective of the amount ordered.So, I love the product, the steel can package is beautiful, but a waste.

Nice taste. Easy in the microwave. Took the maple and brown sugar. Texture is rough which is a other reason I buy it.

This is delicious oatmeal. However, it takes 30 minutes to cook. I have had a problem with it sticking to the pan if not stirred enough. The texture is fairly crunchy. Plus it’s kind of pricey.

Great cereal——but packing into box needs to improve—1/2 of my cans were badly dented from being tossed around in the box.

McCann's Irish Oatmeal is a great, filling, hot cereal to have in the mornings. It's an easy to make, quick, nutritious breakfast. It's a good value for the number of servings in each canister. It arrived in date and in good condition; I would definitely purchase it again.
