Off Cast Mystery
This is a four book set of mysteries that all involve food and even though the food detective insists he only looks for foods. My Armitage has to help the police to solve a murder in a spa in a Swiss Alpine Springs, then at a medieval fair. While in New Orleans, he is hired to find an old cook book and in the last book, he has to help on the Danube Express train on a special trip. These books are okay for mysteries, but a lot of the food aspects confuse me.

A very knowledgeable author
As someone who has cooked professionally and spent a number of years in the restaurant industry. I find his books fun and interesting. Book # 5 comes to mind. I actually wrote down a couple of his recipes or ideas and have made one of the dishes. The Carbonade Flamande I found interesting. I researched it a bit and have made it for the first time. I hunt both deer and bear. Venison is our favorite red meat. I was impressed that the author actually had the hunters in his book acquire them in the best manner for the venison. That impressed me. The carbonade, I discovered, in the future would be a great preparation for bear when I acquire one again.

Lots of fun, learned a few cookin tips!
Enjoyed the different venues and countries/cities not to mention the interesting takes on food. And the whodunnit part was not as easy to figure out as many “series” type mysteries. A fun read.
