Spending most of my time searching to explain things mentioned in the text.
I admit, I am disappointed with this book. It seems to be written for a person with extensive professional construction experience. My project is to earth plaster over drywall. I am told: ""Finish drywall to level 2 or level 3 (ASTM C840) depending on how thick your earth plaster coat will be." LOL needless to say, I had to search the internet to get a simple description of what they meant.More questions arise than are answered. What is an air fin and where do I get them? How would I install one? Why does drywall gaps need to be taped and mudded, when the large gaps in lath can simply be plastered over?I carefully read the beginning chapter on "Natural Plaster Ingredients" only to run into ingredients in the recipes that I was unfamiliar with. What is whiting? and mica powder?

An Essential Book about Natural Plasters
Essential Natural Plasters is definitely an essential book for anyone wanting to understand the complex art of mixing and applying appropriate natural plasters both inside and outside their building project. The authors have drawn on their extensive experience of being professional plasterers, as well as the expertise of numerous others well versed in the art of plastering. The myriad recipes for specific plasters for virtually every application is well worth the price of the book alone.
