Leonardo da Vinci

Illustrations are beautiful and the content is rich. We’ve been going through it with my 8 yo y3 slowly to absorb all the details.

This is a book for older children, perhaps ages nine, ten, or eleven. It contains a lot of information, almost like an encyclopedia article, with names, dates, places. But the reader never gets to know Leonardo as a person, and that is disappointing. The art and words supplement each other nicely, and Stanley does an outstanding job with the setting -- helping us see Leonardo in the context of his times. I recommend this as an excellent overview of Leonardo and his times.

This is a wonderful book about the life of Leonardo. The information is extremely interesting and the pictures are beautiful. My 8 year old enjoyed this book a lot.

Written for 10 to 15 year-olds, but I enjoyed it, too. Nicely illustrated.

Awesome visuals about this historical artist! This book integrates a great mix of history and art! A must read for younger ages, as well as adults!

There's just the right balance of facts, description and pictures in this book to keep it interesting for curious children.

Not fit for a 5 yr old but I LOVED IT. After realizing there was no way to convince my small child to stop fidgeting during the long pages, I put the book away. Then today, I decided why not educate myself? I couldn't put it down...finished it in 1 go. By the end, I was left 1) craving discovery 2) hopeful 3) in tears 4) with a different understanding of Leonardo. A MUST read. Informative, exceptionally well organized and written.
