If you're looking for a professional tripod with a bubble level, this is not it. But if you want a lightweight and easy tripod to document gigs, rehearsals, workshops and such, this is just right. Because of the high-quality of the iPad video, having a simple tripod produces astonishing results. Also, this tripod only adds a pound to your bag, which is a real plus if you're carrying other gear. Having tried it on several surfaces in different positions, it seems to work best when the iPad is facing slightly upwards (so, place iPad below the object you'd want to shoot), with its weight leaning towards the back rather than the front.

I first bought this just for its intended use as a tripod for taking photos/videos.Got lazy and didn't take it off the tripod and back into my regular Belkin folio to read in bed and discovered THIS THING IS AWESOME for reading in bed. Why? Because you can independently adjust the three legs and separately articulate the connecting joint to comfortably sit on any uneven surface in a typical bed even with pillows.Reading with it sitting on your lap? No Problem.Reading on your side? No problem.Reading on an uneven surface, say half resting on the bed, the other half on your lap with pillow. Still, no problem.PROS:1) Rock solid stable for pictures and video2) Bonus: Fantastic for reading while in bed3) Relatively light4) Can articulate to a very wide variety of angles and heights5) Stays put once articulated (doesn't slowly sag etc.)6) Holds onto your mini extremely tight7) Slipping your mini on/off extremely easy.CONS:1) Stiff articulation in the head joint2) Initially, upon removing from packing, had a stinky smell for a few days. This did go away after leaving out on table for several days.3) As far as I know, the head joint is not standard or interchangeable. This thing is just BEGGING for a standard camera mount head or a "hot" shoe camera mount so you could use it for external flash stand or LED light stand. Wish they had this so I didn't have to buy a separate Gorilla stand for my point and shoot camera. Anyone at Grifiti reading this? Get on that. Would make this an even more versatile product.BOTTOM LINE: Works as advertised. SOLID buy. If you read/browse with your mini in bed/on couch for extended periods of time, get this.

the threads that screw into the back of the case that hold the ipad are just pressed into a plastic piece mine came out right away i had to use glue to fix it so far so good in that area. other thing is the i pad mini is to heavy for the legs the collapse on itself.

It's okay I guess. I don't like how hard it is to get the ipad out of the stand. I'm sure one of these days it's going to drop on the floor and get smashed while I'm trying to struggle it out. I'd pass on it if I had it to do over.

easy to use and friends are always intrigued by it! I practice aerial acrobatics and record fitness videos and it always comes in handy for both.

I like it, but it wasn't the same size of tablet I have. But I use it for decoration now.

Fine until it broke. Considering I use it to prop up my mini on my counter to read recipes, I'm not very happy. The screw in the back just doesn't hold. Maybe I got a bad one, but after only minimal use for six months, I say don't waste your money.

This has worked great for the school projects it was purchased for. It's very durable and fairly easy to adjust.

I was looking for something to hold our ipad mini while the kids did piano lessons over Skype. This worked out perfect. It's easy for them to set up when I am not home. And they can tilt the ipad many different ways in order for their teacher to see what they are doing. Love it.

This works perfectly. Very happy with the way the iPad sits in the tripod and how flexible the legs make it, allowing just the right angle. Would have been 5 stars if the first one hadn't been defective. Thankfully it was very quickly resolved and a brand new was sent for free!

while it is a handy item, its rather homely and broke fairly quickly. much better options out there.

My daughter loves it for shooting time lapse of her drawings
