It is not clear if the shipping temperature range is for the day's highs or lows. Highs here in the 40s & 50s but lows are in the 20s. Can we ship?

It's the 'high' of the day. It can be colder at night. But if it's only reaching upper 30's during the day, it is too cold to order. The client is responsible for checking their own forecast and ordering at an appropriate time. If ordered when below 40 degrees daytime temperatures, the live arrival guarantee is void.

Does this refill kit include new sand for the ant farm?

No, The ants come in the vile as seen in the picture. When you order the ant works gel farm , there is no need for sand, they live,eat and drink from gel! You only need to open the container every three days to allow air inside because Ants need very little oxygen. I open mine daily. Very easy to care for and beautiful!

What do you feed them?

Fruit mainly and they lived longer then stated in the description listed small chunks worked best
