SAX Works Great with One Very Simple Fix!
This kazoo is so cute! Do "NOT" pay attention to the negative reviews complaining about what is wrong because it is a very quick and simple fix!Like other reviews mentioned, simply pull off the black round piece on the "front" of the kazoo. Remove the tan piece of paper, and use/save that as a template to cut the same size now using "wax" paper. Pop that in, snap on the black piece in front and TA DA! The kazoo now works perfectly! This fix literally takes less than a minute. So thankful that I read "ALL" of the reviews! It really has a great sound! 🎶🎵

Terrible product ... the most important part, KAZOO SOUND, is missing ....
I wanted to use this onstage as a goof for a "Sax" solo, and it looks great for such a comedic role, except that it's lacking the most important element: a KAZOO SOUND !!!The 'Kazoo' diaphragm is some sort of brown paper-bag type material and it just doesn't resonate whatsoever. Easily replaceable with wax-paper or tissue paper or some such, but why should I have to do that ??The most important part of a Kazoo is for it to SOUND LIKE A KAZOO ... and this product fails miserably ... all the manufacturer needed to do is install a 'real' Kazoo diaphragm and this would be a five-star winner instead of a one-star failure. Ironically, the least costly component is the one that was cheaped out on ... what were they thinking ???

Adorable and sounds cute, too.
I did have to tighten it up, but it was an easy repair. Kazoos are not complicated. Looks and sounds great. Audience loved it.

Looks great, only worked for 2 seconds as a kazoo, but is fixable.
Looks great though it's not full-scale. Took it out of the package and the kazoo membrane part vibrated weakly for 2 seconds, then stopped altogether. So that's a fail. However... the membrane holder part that's the heart of the kazoo action *can* be carefully removed and modified by swapping in the heart of another kazoo, to get it really working. To repair:Twist the black round part and it pops out to reveal a really poor quality paper disc. You need to replace that with a mylar plastic one from another cheap plastic kazoo. When I made the fix, the tightness of the black round piece pushed back into the hole made a difference as well. The resonant cavity of the sax shape favors low notes in the baritone sax range. And don't blow too hard as you hum, then the sax-like quality of the sound will surprise you. Not as loud as a Wazoo... but a deeper sound.

Great prop, terrible kazoo
The kazoo function doesn't work, but that doesn't matter for my purpose. I am setting up a skeleton band as part of a Halloween light show at my house, and this thing was the perfect size prop for a 3-ft skeleton. It looks like a real instrument, and seems sturdy enough to handle the elements outside.

Useful content, kinda low. Symbolic content, high!
OK, considering this is just a TOY, maybe I should tone down the critic in me, but....I was disappointed. It does resemble a saxophone, but very cheap plastic construction, the keys don't do anything although they do move for some reason, but mostly the dang kazoo is so lousy! Hardly works and not worth the title Kazoo!Because of that, I think it's a bit overpriced for a throwaway toy. That said, I bought 4, for its symbolic meaning and not to play in a jazz band. When she was little, in the 1920's my late mother got a little tin toysaxophone as a gift for Christmas one year, when her family was particularly poor. She about "wore it out" she said, and remembered it all her life as a very special and meaningful Christmas present from her Dad, in bad times. So, toy or not I have one hanging on my Christmas tree, with that story rolled up and tucked inside the little plastic saxophone. Merry Christmas, Mom!

Not-so-careless whispers
Thus is an amazing kazoo! Though it generally has to be played loudly, it works in comparison to my experiences with the other versions. Those being the trumpet and clarinet. This is a way cheaper kazoo that those other two, and who doesnt like a silly saxophone? 🎷

CHEAP
I normally don’t take time to write reviews but this product was so cheaply made I am compelled to warn other shoppers NOT to purchase this. I read the other reviews about the kazoo aspect not working properly and replacing with wax paper so I can’t say that I was shocked to find that the kazoo does not work. I took apart another kazoo and took its wax paper and it did work...briefly. I put the toy sax in my pocket and headed to my Halloween party. When I arrived at the party I discovered, much to my chagrin, that not only did the kazoo fall apart but also the black mouth piece had fallen off. This product is cheaply made and I would not recommend to anyone.
