Gracious LivingMedium Duty Adjustable Ventilated Storage Shelving Unit, 5 Shelf

Easy to assemble. Sturdy.

The shelves ( I purchased two sets) were truly filthy when they arrived. There was no covering and they had obviously been left out somewhere before they were packed in jury-rigged boxes for shipment. I had to wash all 10 shelves AND all 32 bushings AND all 32 posts which were packed inside the 2 shelving units. Everything was coated with considerable dirt and dust. I figured washing was easier than returning. The shelves mostly met my expectations as far as quality. They are serviceable and they hold a fair amount of "stuff." However when you tried to adjust the shelf height, the bushings did not cooperate and it was difficult if not impossible to move them after the shelves had been assembled even though the directions said this was possible. I would have rated them higher if they hadn't been so darn dirty. Yuck!

Years ago I bought a shelf unit for my outside closet from Home Depot, a Keter. It was too wide for the closet sides so I placed it along the facing wall off to the right. I lost a lot of floor space. 20 yrs later Amazon, where you can practically get anything, any size came along so I ordered this 32" shelf unit to fit off to the side and give me floor space. I took everything off the other shelf and placed it on the patio while assembling this one which was very easy. Sadly, I did not count parts before I started. When I got to the top shelf, no bushings. I had two choices, tear it down and return or contact the company as their paperwork states. I was so into rearranging this closet, I decided not to tear it down and return, I'd contact the company and get the bushings. FYI, been over a week, no bushing. It's a Canadian company, my advice, count parts, if you are short, return to Amazon. I set the last shelf on the top but not aligned with the posts/holes while waiting for bushings that never came. Yet??? I put lightweight items up there like umbrellas etc until I get the bushings. But that's not panning out. I repurposed my 20 yr old Keter shelf for my plants. Comparing the Keter to this shelf, the Keter was better constructed, but that was 20 yrs ago. The size of this Gracious Living is perfect for my needs. But I do need the top shelf. I just wish I had not been so gung ho. I should of flipped the shelves over and counted parts before unloading and removing my Keter shelf. I should of disassembled it once I realized parts were missing and sent it back instead of contacting Gracious Living. Should of, could of, would of. The shelves seem to be sturdy enough for the weight I paced on them. Mind you, I can't use the top shelf fully yet. Kinda still hoping Gracious Living comes through. If they do, I will gladly update. I give 3 stars for the shortage of parts. Not a good value if I can't utilize the top shelf like I needed. This shelf was delivered May 15, 2021. As of today May 31, 2021, no bushings from Gracious Living. Next time I have an issue with a product, I'm contacting Amazon. Not the seller. Very disappointed in Gracious Living.

I have seen shelves just as sturdy in big box stores for half the price, but that is on me. I had an adjuster sleeve shatter when trying to put a shelf on the stack and I had to trim the flashing off each post the get them to seat properly. On a side note the shelves were filthy when I unboxed them. So, overall not a great experience but they do what is expected of this type of unit.

Be prepared to struggle a bit with the assembly. It's not as easy as it looks. I resorted to using a hammer because the adjusting "bushings" and the shelf corner openings weren't always a good fit. But I suppose that's a good thing because it adds to the sturdiness of the unit. Since these are being used in a basement with a low overhead, the adjustable shelving allowed for using all 5 shelves without having a useless couple of inches at the top. It's a definite plus.I would purchase this again.

This is exactly what I needed for my garage. Unfortunately, it arrived with a piece broken off one of the shelves. There was no packing on the ends of the box, which probably would have prevented the breakage. Once out of the box, the packaging was unusable, so returning it would have been difficult and expensive. I just put the broken shelf on the top and only put light things on it. It's working fine, but I think the seller should re-evaluate the packing of these items.

I tried two different shelves for different sides of my storage room. This was the better of the two, but I can't use the top shelf because it's missing a piece. The vendor sent the piece on a work day and without my knowing and postage was required to be paid by me on delivery. I missed that delivery and never got the piece needed for the top shelf.

The shelves are designed to interlock with another unit next to it. With several units interlocked together, the shelf width will be 32 inches, but standing alone, the dovetail protrudes out beyond 32 inches. See photo.Other had commented on the weakness of this unit. Therefore when I assembled, I used PVC contact cement on all joints and made sure that they were seated firmly. Happy with the results.
