Game of Thrones: The Costumes, the official book from Season 1 to Season 8

long story short, I borrowed the book from the Public Library, well done. They would charge me $300 if not return on time. I got it for $30 bucks on Amazon. Thx Amazon.

This is not paperback. It is a very large and heavy fist class hardcover. Almost every page has full color, full page glossy clear photos of each costume. Many sorted by the main characters. Included are some concept sketches. Even the embroidery and jewelry have wonderful closeups. Not to fear boots, shoes scabbards and other accoutrements are depicted. A must have for GOT, LOTR, and Medieval fans.

I've actually never seen the tv show but was recommended this book as an art doll artist. I have to say the detail in the costumes is fantastic. This is a very large book and covers a large number of costumes worn in the show. If you're into costume making or art doll clothing I would highly recommend this book. It's a quality hard cover, has beautiful pictures and drawings and printed on quality paper.

Wow, what an incredible book! It's a heavy one- you definitely get your money's worth as far as the amount of detail and gorgeous photography. I was very impressed. They're separated my family and character. I think it's normally 70 dollars so the Amazon price is a steal. Even if it's not your favorite show, it's amazing to see the work and thought that went into everything they made. This would be a great gift!

Just like her costumes Michele Clapton’s book is of stunning quality! Every detail in the making of this book has her hand in it. The smallest details such as the quality of paper and the golden embossing to the photographs and the details that are half the story. If you really want to know about Game of Thrones buy this book. You will get a sense of what the actors must have felt being able to put on such masterpieces and then portray their craft to the highest degree of professionalism. This is a perfect book in a lot of respects. A GOT fan gets a close up of a lot of costumes and can see how detailed they are. It's a large book with thick glossy pages. A good number of photos are full page and have close up detailed images of certain portions. Highly recommended and worth full price.

The book is beautiful and it arrived earlier than expected. I'm so satisfied.

While I wish there were even more photos, this book is amazing as is with detailed photos and sketches of the costumes from GOT along with great commentary giving insight into how they came about. There are even great photos of the first drafts which are WILDLY different from how they ended up.

A very beautiful 450 page, hard cover coffee table book featuring gorgeous pictures, costume renderings and studio shots. Here are some of my thoughts: Pros: • A very high-quality coffee table book with a hard bound cover and dust cover • Beautiful studio shots with lots of closeup details and many of Helen Sloan's on set stills to use in comparison • A large array of Michele Clapton's costume designs and renderings including some early concepts. Many of these have never been seen before • A great selection of many stand-out minor costumes, many pictures never seen before • A nice introduction by Clapton herself • Some mention of techniques and fabrics • Two double fold out sections Cons: • A very heavy weight put on later seasons costumes (especially S7 and S8) - even on the cover - to the exclusion of costumes from seasons 1, 2 and 3. • Many costumes from key characters excluded • Varys and Mel in particular have only a few costumes featured • Little mention of the sources and craftspeople except for a thank you at the back of the book. • Largely weighted with images probably about 2/3 pictures to 1/3 copy • None of the costumes from Season 6 – the ones designed by April Ferry - are included in the book. Sansa’s BOTB’s costume for instance. • Both House Frey and House Tarley are both omitted. Edmure Tully and Brynden Tully are also missing. Very little on Essos including Daario Naharis and the second sons, the Slave Masters, The Qarth 13, Quaithe, Jaqen H'ghar Costume CO

A truly well thought through book. Presentation is by House and incorporates most of the players. I used this book for sewing inspiration and I found much more than I bargained for! The photos are brilliant and the drawings clear giving an insight to the designers ideas. If you became a GOT fan and loved the costumes then this book is a treasure to be read over and over. It ooozes talent to the point of sheer genius.

Despite the ending of the series, I loved the job in every department. This series is a masterclass un production design. Gorgeous book, one of the biggest in my collection, beautifully illustrated and with great pictures of the designs as well as details. Excellent book.
