Mako QR Picatinny Shell Holder for Shotguns, Black

Sometimes, buying cheap can end up costing more. I purchased a similar product prior to my purchase of the Mako's and immediately, I had issues. The quality was so poor, when I tried to press the button to release the rail, the button could not be pressed because the internal spring had slipped to one side and locked the release button. In order to remove the rail, I had to disassemble the button and pull the spring out with a pair of pliers, damaging the release button housing, beyond repair. This problem occurred with all four of the rails I had purchased. However, the Mako rails almost double in their thickness, compared to the other product, I just described. The release lever on the Mako is similar to other rail items, such as those used on sights and sling holders. The design of the shell holder, tightly holds the shells in place, as you and I would expect. If you do the math, I initiately purchased four of the other product, sold here as well as eBay and less than a week later, I purchased four of the Mako shell holders. The only remaining issue I have is explaining this to my spouse when the credit card bill arrives.

Been looking for a good side saddle for along time and I found it! Quick connect lever works flawlessly. Holds 3 inch slugs and 2 3/4 shells well too.

Extremely easy to install. Well constructed. Mounts securely. Works great with Fab Defense buttstock with built in rails.The shells fit snugly while being easy to remove.

Awful spendy for a piece of plastic. "Tacticool" but not tactical. One dropped shotgun and this thing will snap off for sure. Looks cool, holds shells well but DEFINITELY not for a SHTF scenario. I at least expected a metal clamp for the rail at $40+...nope, only piece of metal on this is the aluminum throw latch for the QD......sorry Mako, struck out on this one. Probably ok for home defense, but not tough work in the suck.

I have purchased several Mako Group products and as always great quality. This was mounted to my Mako folding stock and fits perfectly on the rail. I had purchased another brand shell holder for a less price and was not impressed. Although the Mako products cost a little more they are of excellent quality.

Holds the shells very secure. Works as advertised. Only time will tell if it holds up! :)

Some slots hold shells so tight they are impossible to pull out and when they do the shell is scarred. Other slots barely hold the shell and they fall out due to recoil. Cheaply made plastic for a high price tag. Very unimpressed with this product. Not functional by any means. Will work for someone who doesn't plan on shooting their shotgun but just have it in the gun safe for looks.
