Picky eaters like the spiciness!

I soaked this for four hours and cooked until the liquid was almost gone but some of the beans and especially the corn were way too hard to be eaten. I had to keep adding water and cooking time all afternoon. What a hassle! In the end the oats and peas were over-cooked and the beans are almost cooked. Horrible product. My African Grey isn't that crazy about it anyway.
