Alpine Naturals Dark Chocolate Espresso Beans, 16 Ounce are a real treat - great taste
Alpine Naturals Dark Chocolate Espresso Beans, 16 Ounce is a great chocolate treat. My first reaction when I first tasted the divine little treats was WOW! Alpine Naturals had taken carefully roasted espresso beans and covered them with a smooth, creamy dark chocolate that melts in your mouth. I bit down on the chocolate ball and there was a small crunch. Then this wonderful flavor of coffee and chocolate filled my mouth. I love both dark chocolate and espresso and together, a dream come true. They are perfect for an after-dinner treat but those who are sensitive to caffeine should probably be careful when they eat them. Maybe an after breakfast or lunch treat?I have had chocolate covered coffee beans in the past and they were good. I expected these candies to be similar in flavor but Alpine Naturals has done something different that I think raises their chocolate espresso beans to a special level. The beans are not bitter which can happen with over-roasted beans and the chocolate is dark but very smooth, my favorite. The treats come in 8-ounce and 16-ounce resealable packages. They should keep well in the bag assuming they don't get all eaten in a feeding frenzy.I recommend these wonderful treats and urge you to give them a try. You will not be sorry.

These are terrific!
I can't believe I've been missing chocolate-coated espresso beans all these years. I've heard of them, but just never tried them. What a shame....because I think these are wonderful. The "dark" of the chocolate is not all that dark, and the cocoa content is only 51%, but the chocolate tastes rich and melts nicely in the mouth. The combination of the chocolate and the bean is very similar to the rewarding combination of a sip of coffee and a bite of fine chocolate. These are great to crunch. I never really thought to eat/chew coffee beans before. I sure did not know what I was missing! (Particles do get stuck in teeth, though.)I tried hard to not eat these in the evening, thinking the caffeine would keep me awake, but I couldn't resist. Which then gave me the opportunity to realize that if there is caffeine in these beans, it is not enough to affect my sleep.

Don't even think about it.
Just kidding. Best I have ever tried.Despite having endured a few trials that would have tested the toughest of confectionery, the dark chocolate espresso beans survived to tell the tale of being about the best. First, the UPS driver left them well hidden from everything but the sun- this took cate of the top 1/3- then I came along and in a small but of irony left them atop my coffee maker. No matter, these are the best. Take the result of a sugar binge, throw in the dark dark beans and, well, a full one-pound bag and it’s a recipe for insomnia. (Knowing what I do now, I would definitely break down the bag into smaller portions. And hide them.)So in a way, having to work a ballpein and icepick to get a handful out served as an overindulgence deterrent. There were still quite a few natives rolling around in the bag to sample, and it’s a shame I ruined so many of them, but the overall net loss was zero. The blobs shattered fairly easily- at least the sunbaked ones- and even though the melting caused some unfortunate discoloration, (they are a thing of beauty) the taste was unaffected.(I know the photo looks like the Easter Bunny paid a visit, but you get the idea)Selling these in a bag this size is just cruel. For those of you with little or no will power, pace yourselves.

"Yummmmm..." and "Boing!!!!!"
I have long enjoyed similar products, but find these Alpine Naturals delicious and effective. The outside layer of chocolate is a bit thicker than that of other brands, and less intensely dark at only 51% cacao. The sweeter outside layer keeps the overall effect from being too bitter, and I love the crunchy but soft texture of the whole beans inside...truly a treat to be savored. I definitely got a caffeine buzz from these, and expect that those people who are more sensitive to caffeine had better not sit down with the whole bag and nosh while reading a book, etc. The resealable bag is a nice feature, but I put it all into a glass jar to maintain freshness. These are really very good, and could be nice to share with friends at a party, with a warning about the caffeine. The thickness of the chocolate layer adds a lot to this, especially for chocolate lovers. A cup of coffee in the pocket...with chocolate! What could be better? Highly recommended!

Chocolate and coffee what is not to like?!
These tasty morsels will be gone before you know it. The chocolate isn't very dark but I think it needs a bit more sweetness/sugar to contrast with the crunchy coffee bean. The chocolate melts in your mouth and it is hard to only eat only a few at a time. I think what makes them addictive is that they are fun to munch on.Although it comes in a resealable bag I found mine did not seal well so I had to place it in another ziplock bag for added protection. I especially like that the ingredients are 'pure' in that I can recognize everything on the ingredients list. But it does contain soy and for those will severe food allergies, it may also contain trace milk, peanut, tree nuts and sulphites.

Espresso Beans Covered In Chocolate
Just coffee beans covered in dark chocolate.Dark chocolate is not as pronounced, but complements the bitterness of the coffee beans quite wellNice initial bite, and satisfying crunch on the second as the flakes explode in your mouth. Very satisfying to chewDoes contain caffeine, but not as effective as brewed coffee in keeping you awakeLike how the bag it comes in is re-sealable, no need to tranfer it to another bag or jar.Very good snack item, make sure you don't eat too much in bulk as your stomach may not be able to handle it and get indigestion (varies by person)
