Slight differences from the Magna-Tile brand
Our kids love magnet blocks. We have set of Magna-tiles that are similar to this Magnetic Tile set.Pros of the Magnetic Tile (this) brand set: This set has windows and doors- perfect for creating houses for toys.Cons: The interior of the solid blocks are not reinforced meaning if you step on them they could break.Pros of the Magna-tiles brand set: The interior bracing system really makes them sturdy. We’ve had the set a year and, even though I have stepped on some of these tiles, none have broken.Cons: There are no openings in the blocks themselves. To make windows or doors your child has to leave one or two blocks off.Now while the sets are similar they don’t quite blend seamlessly. The isosceles (taller) triangles are slightly different. The Magnet Tile set ones are just a little bit shorter. They both have strong magnets but Magnetic Tile ones were a hair longer thus stronger. Both sets were riveted in the corner. The Magna-tile rivets have a slightly larger diameter.I liked both sets. For our family the Magna-Tiles are better because toys don’t get put away every time and they do get stepped on. Your family might like the creativity the Magnetic Tiles provide. Please note the product picture are inconsistent. Some show the magnetic tiles as having an inner square instead of a diamond. The set we received was consistent. The blocks all had diamonds or triangles on the interior of the solid plastic tiles.

Magnetic tiles for the win
My son adores magnet tiles. He has ever since he was two and first discovered them. They are easy to play with, safe for play (as the pieces are quite large), and inspire creativity. Whether he is building something, or just enjoying the pieces sticking together, he's building his motor skills and engaging with a toy that makes him use his imagination.I found this set comparable with the many different sets I've seen at my son's day care and school, although it is a smaller set at only 33 pieces. That said, the size is reflected in the list price. If you’re looking for a bigger set, we really liked Magblock 115 PCS Magnetic Blocks, which comes in both 66 and 115 piece sets. They’re also completely interchangeable with this set if you’re interested in multiples. The pieces are well sized for small hands and stick together well. We also had another set from a different brand (MAGDESIGNER Magnetic Building Blocks) and the two worked together just fine. My son loves trying to copy the shapes they’ve included and has been using these to practice his letters, which is also a huge plus.
