Hudson Exchange 5 Liter Hedpak Container with Spigot, HDPE, Natural, 4 Pack

It's great with a little work.
I know a lot of people complain that these don't take I'm air as they are emptied, which builds up a vacuum which won't allow water to flow. This is 100% true, however for me personally I don't have to fill the jug all the way up, so I just tilt it up when the flow slows so the water level lowers to under the spout, lower it back down and you have flow again.Nice thick sturdy plastic. I don't forsee any issues with the jug itself, but feel like the spout could be a bit better... It doesn't drip or anything, but it is a little difficult to turn so if you get to the point where there is less than a liter or so of water, you have to hold the jug down so it doesn't shift when you turn the water on/off... This is my only real gripe, but there isn't anything that can be done about it.I am using this to mix nutrient solutions for plants, so I only put in as much as I need.

Hudson Exchange-1001382 5 Liter Hedpak Container with Spigot
This container is very sturdy, I mounted it under our kitchen sink as a storage tank for the dish detergent, with a hose connected directly to the spigot (valve open) the detergent flows nicely to the hand pump soap dispenser above and it stays primed. The narrow container holds over a gallon of liquid, so it shouldn't need to be refilled that often. I may add a 1.5" plastic plug cap to make it easier to refill it without removing the spigot each time. (that's optional) It works great! and its real simple to install for this application. Lastly... the spigot with hose connection hasn't leaked a drop!I highly recommend this container.

Serves my purpose nicely!
I bought this 5L container to store film developer. I buy 5-liter packages of powdered film developer that I mix and dump into this container, using the spigot to measure out the amount I need for dilution. The container itself is very well made, I don't think I'll ever have a problem with the seams splitting or anything like that. The fact that it's thin and tall means it has a relatively small footprint for storing under the sink. So far I haven't had any issues with the spigot leaking, but I don't take any chances. I store the full container with the spigot pointing up (that is, the entire container is on its "back" with the handle and the spigot at the top) until I'm using it.At first I was a little disappointed that there's no vent, which means that after dispensing a little over a third of a liter the flow slows to a trickle and you have to let some air in through the spigot to get full operation back. But a vent is also another potential point of failure, so I'm okay not having it if that means that I'm less likely to have to clean up a bunch of leaked film developer. It's a minor inconvenience. The spigot does feel pretty cheap, but it's effective and nothing seems to be getting through once it's closed. Maybe one day I'll decide to look for a better one, but for now I'm perfectly happy with it.It was surprisingly difficult to find a container like this that didn't have a bunch of reviews talking about leaks and other problems, so I'm glad I happened across this one. It really is exactly what I need.

Decent product
Volume nodes not clearly marked, which was a pain to have to measure and label myself. Works good, however.

Easy to handle and store
The shape of these makes them easy to store. I also like the handle and hand grip for ease of handling when full of water. I use it for camping in my van. May buy another to replace a less convenient jug.

Does what it supposed to, period.
Food safe? Check. Made from the same material as everyday milk containers but a lot thicker.Sturdy? Check. Go ahead, step on it. (You'll just pop the lid off.)Fit in Yeti Cooler Bag? Check. Two with room for a few cans/bottles and ice.Easy to handle? Check. It's 5 liters. (Think about one-and-a-half milk jugs flattened down.)Survive Off-Roading? Oh, yeah... Bungee it in and bounce on!What can't it do? Long-term water storage (greater than 6-12 months) without additional treatment as the container is translucent. But then again, I didn't buy these for that reason. I needed water storage for weekend trips and camping that my wife and kids could easily handle.

Worked good for a few months then....
Purchased two containers. Worked good for a few months then one started leaking around the threads where the valve screws onto the container. Yes, its tightened securely. Valve thread assembly is a poor design should have a seal or gasket between the valve and container to prevent leaks.

Should not crack or break
Like the durabilityDid not like the dispense nozzle. Extends below the bottom of the vessel, and is hard to turn on and off. Forces you to extend the unit beyond a shelf, or counter. I substituted it for another momentary nozzle I had from a broken similar tank.Numerous reviews highlighted the lack of a air vent. The lack of a vent was a simple fix for my purposes, just a hot needle making the smallest hole above the fluid level and handle.Hope it lasts longer than some other similar containers I’ve tried
