I have been trying to work from home more frequently but I am forever without the specific files I need. I had not even thought about using a memory card to place my files and documents on. When this iDsonix USB 3.0 Memory Card 2 Slot Reader came in yesterday I decided to see if I could use it to quickly access my files. It worked beautifully!Since this is 3.0, I tried it on my laptop which does have a 3.0 port. I also used it on my desktop since this reader is backwards compatible with a 2.0 port. My files did transfer faster on 3.0 as expected. Just a note, the speed does not totally depend on the card reader. The speed of 3.0 will vary depending on the device. Some 3.0's will barely run faster than a 2.0. Others will run more than 20X faster.The design of this memory card reader is classy. The protective cover is nicely made and should provide good protection of your port. That said, I would use caution when tossing this in a bag or carrying in your pocket. Memory card readers and flash drives can be finicky and a little bump along the way can mess things up.I took one star off of my rating because there is no light to indicate when files are transferring. Granted this is a personal preference, but with the majority of card readers already having a light to indicate when files are transferring, I had to deduct a star for it. If a transfer light is not of importance to you, than I would give this a 5 star.I received a sample of this product in exchange for an honest review of the product. Save time and trust me....you will not find a better made USB 3.0 hub at a better price than this here on Amazon.The card reader's slim design and dimension of 2.3" x 4" x 0.8 is smaller than a TI calculator and at a little under 61/2 ounces just as light, making this a good option for carrying in a pack or camera bag for photo file transfer on the go.A card reader these days is for more than digital camera photo file transfer. The iDsonix SuperSpeed USB 3.0 Memory Care Reader can transfer files from mobile phones, GPS navigation devices, handheld consoles, and tablet computers. And if your device was made after July 2013, chances are you can take advantage of the faster transfer speed rate of a 3.0 USB card reader.But don't worry if your device is older than this.....a 3.0 USB with also transfer to devices with only 2.0 USB ports, albeit at a slower speed than a 3.0 transfer. And for this price, there is no reason to not to buy this card reader because even an older 2.0 card reader could cost more than this iDsonix.I have used this card reader teaching a photography class where there was a multitude of camera brands and models both old and new. Thanks to the variety of different types of card slots all my students where able to use the card reader without issue. And the durable aluminum casing protected this device from the clumsy uh oh moments when the reader was knocked off desks or dropped.I do agree with other reviewers that a light that flashes to indicate that transfer of files is ongoing would be helpful. That would then give this hub 51/2 stars, ok, maybe 6 stars.You might still be suspicious that you can pay so little and receive a quality card reader. However, iDsonix is a company that provides value without compromise in components.P.S. : Along with this hub, as a tech buyer I have sold multiple iDsonix 3.0 USB hubs to many happy customers. To add to your convenience, you may want to consider purchasing an iDsonix 10-USB hub with three 3.0 usb ports and seven 2.0 ports if you want to hook up a card reader, a camera, a tablet, and a smartphone or other devices at the same time, a very handy option when traveling.

In the world of plastic we live in this is a clear winner. This reader has many pluses. First and foremost its completely surrounded with aluminum. The multi reader has a variety of ports for all types of card interfaces. It is USB 3.0 ready and I have had transfer rates as high as 190 MB/s. Yet it's hard to tell other than reports generated by the computer. The only indicator you have is just the connectivity light (or power) LED on the device.Hopefully a transfer light can be incorporated to show that the device is actually moving data visually on the device itself. Other than that this is an awesome device for reading cards. If the designers read these reviews there are two things that would make the device even more useful ....USB hub to allow expansion and all a thumbdrive to be plugged in.

Not very truthful at all about the product. First, they use a term - TF - that has been outdated for years. Why not use the term that came out over 3 years ago - Micro SD. Maybe because I had to try three different manufacturer's models before the device would actually read a card. 2. They they say you can copy to both cards at the same time, when it most certainly does not, and the directions have a warning about putting two cards in the device at the same time. "Notes: IDSONIX iUD3-C03-BK Series doesn't support SD CArd and TF Card plugged in simultaneously." Yet the descriptions states: "Read and Write two memory cards simultaneously to save the efforts of constant unplugging and re-plugging" 3. The pictures for inserting the cards are totally incorrect. Only one cardwill go in the way it shows, the other is 180 degrees off - it has to go in upside down. 4. There is not aluminum on the device at all -not sure what the other reviewer received. 5. There is no cable that came with the device, so it will not even insert in most devices - because they have the card sticking out so far that it will not fit in the slot.It looks pretty, but so does a flower, it's a shame they cannot make the product do what they claim.Yes, I am returning it.

Was pleasantly surprised with the quality and feel of this peripheral. good length USB cable, multiple ports, and a very nice quality metal build that just looks high quality and feels nice. only thing is that in my computer on windows the computer displays multiply drive icons that are faded..when you plug a card in then only does the icon become clickable. other than that small gripe i feel its a great device..and it should've came with small rubber feet so it doesn't slip on my desk.
