A Really Neat Clock
I bought this clock for the wall in my kitchen. So far, the clock seems to work great!PROS:The clock has a very large display. I love the fact that it features the time, date, day and temperature. The description on the box promises that the clock can run for up to two years on a single new AA-sized alkaline battery. The clock is very attractive in appearance.CONS:The display becomes more difficult to read from an angle. Anyone who has ever owned a wristwatch or calculator with an LCD display has seen this phenomenon; so, this should be of no surprise to anyone who purchases the clock.Overall, I am very pleased with the clock. I installed a new AA battery on January 1, 2014; so, I will see how long the clock actually runs on that battery (I did not use an alkaline battery; so, it probably will not last two years. However, alkaline batteries sometimes have a tendency to leak; so, I decided against using an alkaline battery for that reason).I purchased this clock to replace an old analog clock from Westclox (which had died after 40 years of continuous use.... I give a five star rating to that old clock by Westclox for its longevity).I did see that more expensive models of clocks by La Crosse were offered. The more expensive clocks were similar in appearance but provided additional features (such as outdoor temperature and synchronization with the atomic clock in Fort Carson, Colorado). I was tempted to buy one of those clocks; but, a number of reviews complained that the more expensive clocks sometimes went through batteries far too quickly and that the synchronization sometimes didn't work, resulting in the clock being set to the wrong time. As much as the additional features of the more expensive clocks appealed to me, I decided that I needed a reliable wall clock for my kitchen. I chose this clock; because, it allows me to set the time manually. Since this clock will run for a long time on a fresh AA battery, that minimizes the maintenance, I felt that trading off features for reliability was worth it.It would have been nice if this clock had included an optional power cord for plugging the clock into a wall outlet (with the battery serving as a power backup) as well as illumination to make the display easier to read. However, it is still a very nice clock overall.UPDATEAs of December 29, 2016, the clock is still operating normally on the same AA battery which had been installed new on January 1, 2014. The clock has now been functioning well for nearly three years on the same battery (which is not an alkaline battery). The time and temperature readings have both been accurate. Overall, I have been extremely pleased with this product and would recommend it to anyone who was looking for a reliable clock.UPDATEAs of June 19, 2017, the original battery which had been installed on January 1, 2014 is now beginning to fail. The wall clock appeared to have been functioning normally on June 18, 2017; but, the display is now starting to become faint due to the weak battery (although the clock is still keeping accurate time). The clock was able to function normally for three years, five months, and eighteen days on the same battery. Overall, I am still quite pleased with the clock. It has performed extremely well for a long time on a single battery.I had originally considered purchasing the La Crosse clock with the built in atomic clock feature; but after reading the problems which other people have had with those clocks (the clocks displaying the incorrect time as well as the dramatically increased drain on the battery), I decided to purchase the clock without the atomic clock feature. My decision was the correct one. The clock kept time accurately and operated for a long time on a single battery (more than 50% longer than had been promised by the manufacturer). While the clock did not take changes between Standard Time and Daylight Savings Time into account, those occasions were the only two times during the year when I was required to manually reset the hour on the clock (which was not a problem at all, considering that I have to manually flip the page on the wall calendar once per month). The clock kept time accurately enough to where I never had to adjust the minutes. The clock's thermometer feature also performed well. Although I did not purchase the clock because of the thermometer feature, the feature still proved to be extremely useful. Furthermore, the small town in which I reside occasionally experienced power interruptions; but, my battery-powered wall clock was unaffected by these power interruptions. The clock has performed flawlessly. It is attractive in appearance. I would highly recommend this digital clock to anyone who was looking for a reliable wall clock.

Not the same as prior models
It's OK but I've bought this wall clock on 3 prior occasions and I like the old version (which has the same model # BTW) better. The new version requires 3 AAA batteries. The old one only needed 1 AA battery. The new version doesn't track seconds like the older model. The new model has branding on the bottom, the old one didn't. I really don't like this change. Lastly, the temperature is much smaller on the newer version and the # after the decimal is the same size as the first 2 digits.

Perfect wall clock!
The media could not be loaded. Perfect wall clock! It’s bigger than I expected. Grey color seems great. Time display is big enough to hang the clock to a high place. However, when it’s hang to a high place it’s a little bit hard to see the temperature! It’s just like described online. Dry happy with the purchase.

Very good within it's design limitations.
Firstly, I have noticed a lot of negative reviews of this clock, focusing on it being plastic (everything in the world is plastic now), the LCD screen not having wide viewing angles (LCD screens are this way by design) and not being backlit (it clearly says in the description that it is not backlit so why whine about it). When you buy something, read the description and reviews and know the limitations of what you are buying. I suppose in the "Me" culture we live in, that is too much to ask of the average sheeple.Anyway, I bought this clock for an elderly, physically handicapped housebound relative a little under a year ago. She had always had a cable box on top of the TV to tell her the time, but she became poor enough that she could no longer afford cable TV. Being handicapped and housebound, one day blends into the next until she had to really try hard to figure out not only the date but what day of the week it was. Sometimes whether it was day or night, depending on when it got dark outside. For fulfilling these needs, this clock has been a life saver.Accompanied by a simple monthly calendar printed out for free from the interent, mounting both that and this clock beside eachother on the wall over the table next to her daytime sitting chair, she now knows at a glance the time, AM or PM, the date which she can cross reference on the calendar beside the clock, and what day of the week it is. And I can quickly reference the temperature readout to make sure I am keeping the het or AC adjusted to keep her space at a comfortable temperature for her 24 hours a day. This clock is rugged enough to have survived being packed up and taken back and forth to a hospital, it has been dropped on the tile floor from 3 feet and not broken. The battery has lasted through two Daylight Savings Time changes, and having the seconds displayed means I sync it exactly to the NIST atomic clock. I am still on the first battery I put in it almost 10 months later, and having just adjusted it for a DST time change, I found it off by only a few seconds. For a battery powered device, that is impressive. My car clock loses more accuracy than that.Overall, realize what a simple piece of kit this actually is, what it is intended for and no more, and you will be very satisfied. I am.

Works, large, poor at keeping time
This clock has always done great with the temperature and date. However, consistently this clock gets off time by multiple minutes. I had to take it off my classroom wall because my students were leaving intervention late or upset about transitions due to it being wrong.

Good for a small room like bathroom.
I ordered a couple atomic clocks to replace my 25 year old lacrosse atomic clockBoth atomic clocks are in use this small one is good for a small room like a bathroom. It is difficult to read the date day in inside temperature.
