Poetic Licence Women's Betseys Buttons Boot

So, first off, I love Poetic Licence. I'm a massive fan of most of their line, as their style is unique and very much me. I actually ordered these because I wanted a great pair of their shoes to wear for my wedding. However, on Poetic Licence's site, the color of the Natural Tapestry does not match the color on Amazon. With only 2 in stock, I said what the heck and ordered anyway.Let me assure you, the picture is not entirely accurate. The material of the natural tapestry is such that it changes depending on how the light hits it, so technically, BOTH pictures are accurate. The tones are a bit darker in neutral lighting, but the shoe shimmers beautiful in the light. Also, the lacings are more of a dusky pinkish color than the sort of gray in the Amazon picture. Basically, if you want to know the color more accurately, go over to Poetic Licence's site and look at their picture. It's much closer.Color aside, the quality of the shoes is wonderful. The feel solid and well made. They're not too stiff and have a bit of give to them for comfort. They are definitely fitted, though. Very true to size. I don't have wide feet, but if you do, these may not be for you because they fit the ball of my foot perfectly with no socks.So...yes, I love them and give them all the stars, but you probably don't want them if you have a wide foot and shoes are ever a bit snug on you, even in your correct size. (Loosening the lacings only goes a small way to affect this).

I love love these shoes. I got them in the red color which they don't sell here but it is super cute if you ever see it anywhere, get it. They are true to size, not small at all as other reviews have pointed out, I wear a true size 6.5 and these fit perfectly, they are not too narrow anywhere and don't pinch me anywhere, perfect fit, glad I did not order half size up as many have suggested to do. If you have a wide foot, then most shoes won't fit in you in your size and you will not half a size bigger, but that'ts true for any pair of shoes then. The heel is a comfortable height as well, I highly recommend these for their cute look and comfort.This is a followup review for these shoes in black color that I purchases from Amazon. I got them in the same size 6.5 (37) as the coral ones I purchased from another website but these fit much bigger than the other 6.5, these fit like size 7, I mean you could still wear them with an insole or something but it very surprising that the same shoe and same size fits differently. They are real not fake or anything as I have the other pair of shoes to compare them to but the fit is definitely bigger, go figure.

I wait and watch for Poetic License shoes to be on sale enough for me to afford them, because I absolutely love the way they feel. I always feel a tad insecure in heels - like I'm going to lose my balance at any minute, and if the shoes get even slightly off center on my feet, or the heel tilts, or whatever, I'm going to land in an ignominious heap on the ground. I don't know what PL does, but they are solid feeling under foot. I don't feel out of balance, or like my ankles are working over-time to keep me upright. I can wear them all day, and feel like I'm wearing a "sensible shoe" rather than something as fun and festive as these are.One thing to be aware of about the fit - across the top, right at the crease where the top of your toes meet the top of your foot, it's a close fit. I like this - in their pumps it means the shoes stay on and stay where they're supposed to be on your foot without ramming your toes down into the point front of the shoe. But it is something to be aware of. Also, these are solid shoes. I'm not going to say heavy, but definitely not light and airy.I have two of the three Betsey's Buttons boots. I'm still waiting for the Black and Purple version to get sneak into my price range.

Let's be frank. The materials and craftsmanship of this Poetic Licence shoe exceed anything offered by local retailer's such as Kohl's, Target or even Macy's. The fully lined shoe with additional memory foam "puffed heart" in the toe box provide additional comfort for a clearly fashion shoe with a nod to vintage design. The presentation in a beautifully designed box, fully tissued, reveals the high standards of the design house as opposed to mass manufatured shoes that arrive in grey cardboard "coffins" Thank you, Amazon, for creating the link to quality design to those of us who do not happen to live near Paris, London, or New York but appreciate quality and beauty. Nevertheless, I was dismayed to learn that some of the spring line was being offered in "polyurethane" Poetic Licence please continue to choose quality fabrics and leathers to create your beautiful shoes.

I admired these shoes for several weeks before I finally purchased them and I am glad I did. They are so versatile - looking equally good with skirts, trousers and jeans. I get compliments from strangers on the street about how cute they are - but I have found that you can expect compliments on most pairs of shoes from Poetic Licence. The fit is perfect for me but my feet tend to be a bit wide across the toe box. Not wide enough to require a wide width shoe, but wide enough that sometimes cheaper quality shoes pinch and need to be stretched before I can wear them comfortably. I can wear thin socks or tights with these without any problems.

Darling shoes! Different enough to be interesting but not so crazy that you would have to hunt for an outfit to go with it. Alas, these were just too small for me which made me sad....Hard to say if they were comfortable since my feet were pretty squished in them. Couldn't keep them on long enough to decide if they were too high or anything. Can only review on looks alone and these are really cute!
