An academic text focusing on minutiae.
I didn't think much of this book, and this review does reflect how I found it. Many of the articles focus on minutiae of limited interest and little significance: a bit like writing a review on the structure of a drawing pin. Very academic. I'm glad I am not doing a course in art history if this is the sort of book you have to read (but that's probably just me). Some of the authors appear to be attempting to recreate the English language with made up words, often in an attempt at erudition, but end up only serving to make the texts more difficult to follow. More straightforward and simple English and the use of a few more full stops would greatly improve most of the articles in this book.
