I really like this keyboard as an alternative to the Brydge
I have used the Brydge for the most part over the past few years. I decided I wanted something different that would allow me to use a Shock-Proof Case. This keyboard really fit the bill. I needed it to be Bluetooth so that I could use it without it being docked directly into the Surface. I needed it to work and be serviceable. I needed the trackpad to be good too. The keyboard nails all those. 3 items that keep it from being 5 stars: 1, the magnets that hold the keyboard to the surface aren't very strong. When you pickup the device, it doesn't hold as well as it should to the surface. 2, the keyboard lies flat, which just seems weird because it emulates the normal Surface keyboard which tilts a bit 3, the trackpad is not an Advanced Touchpad functionality with Windows 10.... as such you cannot use the "Trackpad Delay" functionality which prohibits accidental touches of the touchpad when typing. The 1st and the 3rd seem like they could be improved, maybe not the 2nd. Still - awesome product that is less than half the price of a Brydge and still allows you to use the keyboard disconnected from the Keyboard (which I think is critical when you are inking).

The dumbest power plug in history —but Zamo refunded.
This keyboard has what is possibly THE stupidest power plug in the history of computers (and that’s saying a LOT!). It’s a little cord that plugs into the USB on the Surface and then into a little magnetic dot on the face of the keyboard. But unlike the magnetic (AC) plug for the Surface itself, THIS plug has to be positioned JUST right... and it’s very easy for it to become disconnected —as has happened now many times. Plus, it seems to take forever to fully charge the keyboard, and the charge doesn’t last long enough to even survive a three-day business trip).Additionally, the Bluetooth cuts out occasionally. Just horrible!“F” for F-ort.UPDATE: Zamo fully refunded, which I really appreciate. The conscientious attention they gave is quite impressive for an on-line retailer. This particular keyboard may be worthless to me... but I might use Zamo again for other purchases.

Mousepad is terrible
I like how the keyboard feels but the mousepad is hypersensitive! It minimizes screens all the time while I am moving the mouse or it makes the settings pane come out from the right side of the screen. The keypad also goes to sleep too often. Then you have to hit the space bar a couple of times to wake it up and wait about 5 secs for the mouse icon to reappear. These problems have rendered this keyboard unusable for me as I use it for work. Too bad because the keyboard was great. Well, two things that the keyboard needs are a light for the caps lock and backlit keys. Based on the mousepad deficiencies I cannot recommend this product.

Extraordinary customer service and very well designed product
Very well designed keyboard - sturdy but lightweight, very smooth key function. Looks much elegant than any keyboard of this class. Minor connectivity issues with bluetooth but oveall, a very good product.Above all, ZAMO has an extraordinary customer service team - they themselves will reach out to you to check if the product is good and we have any issues with it - and offer immediate refunds/replacements. Very impressive.

Hard to use and doesn't close
Tried this because it was so much cheaper than the microsoft keyboards. I have a 2 year old microsoft keyboard that is starting to get a little hit or miss so I needed a new one. Decided to try this as a cheaper option but its function was miserable. You can't actually close the keyboard to the screen all the way. The magnets are pretty weak so unless your sitting at a desk typing, it could easily fall off. The charging port has this pointy metal piece in the middle that I think would eventually scratch the screen if trying to close it and put in a bag. The keys kept going into some weird macro thing and I had to constantly mess around with it to be able to type. When I closed it and put it in my bag, it doesn't turn off the surface. So when I pulled it back out, the surface was very hot, which in turn drained the battery. All that said, I use my surface on the road and on job sites so I put it through more than most. So if you are sitting down and have a desk or table to use it on.... it's an OK option. For any sort of mobile use, it's very impractical.

good keyboard replacement, with some flaws
Mousepad is definitely Way too responsive, so much so that I wish there was a way I could disable the trackpad's finger shortcuts because every five seconds I'm minimizing windows and writing gibberish because my palm hit the trackpad by mistake. And while the trackpad is Overly sensitive, the actual mouse keys are Under sensitive and I have to really pound to get some of the keys to type and then when I do they then pound out double letters. Pretty frustrating. But, usable in a pinch and the bluetooth option is nice so I don't have to have the keyboard attached to my surface. Here is a sentence without my fixing the mistakkesthat happenn every single tie I type soething. It's very frustrating to have to go through and corrsenteceect every other wordbeausesomething doesn't type or the space doesn't work. But, as long as I type very slow and deliberately pound on all the keys it works. Just frustrating, and I'm sure I'll wear through the keyboardd pretty quickly. G.lad I'm not a writer.** - Edited after a few more ddays of use. Yeah, the double lettering andd mousepad really makes it debilitating to get things done in a timely manner. Will probably be looking for another keyboard***UPDATE: So, on the plus side, Zamo has great customer service...but they still have crappy tech. They sent out a newer version of this keyboard, the 'Surface Pro 4 Keyboard, ZAMO Upgrade Wireless Bluetooth with Trackpad for Surface Pro 3/Pro 4-Black'.(right in time because the enter key had just popped off of mine, stellar) Unfortunately, it still has the same issues andtypess likethis if Idon't go bck through nd proof every single thing Itype. It's veryannoyingGuess that teaches me to try and go off brand for surface pro keyboards. I'm just going to have to shelve out the money if I wwant to gt anny work done
