ChefLand8-Piece Stainless Steel Measuring Cups and Measuring Spoon Set

Update: This review is of the Chefland set that was available pre-c. 2007 or so- which had solid stem/handles on the measuring cups that matched the stem/handle style of the spoon set -- the ones shown post c. 2017 are different-- so please note this review is of the earlier set that was purchased ... I still have the original set from several years ago and they work great! But, when I wanted to gift a set to a friend with a cookbook as a housewarming gift-- I noticed that the style of the set was no longer 'uniform', which didn't look quite as nice as most people want all of the pieces in a 'set' to match, and a few of the reviewers also noted a cutting risk with the cups having razor sharp edges-- so that in addition to the change of the look with the cheaper wire handles -- I didn't want it to look like the gift wasn't cohesive or not truly a mated set, so I decided to try the Eastwood 8-Piece set and found that in terms of both, function and look it was equal to/on par with the original style-- the Eastwood 8-Piece Stainless Steel Measuring Cups and Spoons Set -and though more expensive here, but can be found cheaper with a Google search -- The Eastwood set is durable, easy to clean, easy to store and doesn’t look cheap in your kitchen. And compared to other replacement sets tried, the Eastman 8-piece measuring st physically comes closest to matching exactly the same in quality of measure and appearance to the original Chefland set (lot c. pre-2007), that was loved so much - ! And with only the exception of the 1/4 tsp spoon measure- in which theEastman 1/4tsp held a smidge more (about 1/16th tsp or so more) in volume than the Chefland spoon of the same noted measure-), so the Eastwood matches up about 99%+ in terms of accuracy with the original Chefland set that used have all matching handles like the current Eastwood model/set.- ** I guess at this point-- the only way to truly maintain precise measures when baking and trying out recipes at home is to use a digital kitchen scale for standard measure in recipes and also have a small jewelry/spice scale for very small measures-- but, the ChefLand and Eastwood 8-piece measuring sets really are great and were much more accurate in general (and to one another) than other measuring sets I have tried in the past. they look and work nearly the same as the ChefLand original-- and were available for less than $10 on Ebay..*******Our review of the Chefland 8-Piece Stainless Steel Measuring Cups and Spoons SetWhat can I say, I love them, I love them, I love them!In terms of appearance I prefer the look of sleek stainless steel over the cheaper plasticy ones, and I also needed something I could use for measuring out essential oils in my formularies that wouldn’t erode the material (so I do have both kinds), and the original (c. 2007) set by ChefLand's OneSource really made the grade!It’s durable, easy to clean, easy to store and doesn’t look cheap in your kitchen.Overall, they make a really great investment for your kitchen accessories in the long term. Original Post: For the price that Amazon is selling this set for it is a steal! I absolutely love that I was able to get stainless steel for less than most plastic sets. I received exactly what is pictured and described and am very happy with this. I don't think these are the highest quality stainless steel, but I am no expert. I have exactly what was pictured and described and no better. I am not able nor willing to pay a lot of money for a measuring cup and spoon set, and in exchange for the cheap price I know that I am not getting top of the line. I feel that for this set being made of metal and not plastic the price is wonderful and I am sure that this set will serve me for many years. My husband is type 1 diabetic and you cannot have enough measuring spoons and cups when you are cooking and trying to keep track of carbs. Hopefully these will be less likely to fall off the counter unnoticed for the dogs to grab than my old plastic set (I am missing measuring cups and spoons and have found many marred by little teeth). The only thing that is worrisome to me is how long the welds will hold up for on the measuring cups, the welds do seem sturdy so they may not even be a concern. I may order another set or three!UPDATE 4-30-2013: I was right about the welds being weak, one came loose. Also, the one cup measuring cup has developed a rust ring around the outside bottom. The measuring spoons still look like they did the day I bought them. I have never had a recipe not turn out due to inaccurate measurements when using anything from this set. I have also not had anything negatively effect my husband's blood sugar when using these. I am still happy with this purchase.Second Update 1-26-2017: I only had the one weld come loose. I still use all the measuring cups and spoons, even with the loose weld.

My husband and I bought a set of metal measuring cups from our local Walmart, they were Wal-Mart Brand mind you. I though to myself, Hey it's metal what could possible go wrong. Would you believe me when I tell you that in the mist of my husband scooping the baby formula that the measuring cup that was made out of steel actually broke in the baby formula ? When I looked over all he had was this classic "I didn't do it face" and a handle in his hand?Well of course I started yelling at him telling him he must have had some Hercules strength that caused it to just simple break like that. The next day he went to work I went to scoop the next days worth of baby formula and POP handle broke again! I was so shocked and grateful that my husband wasn't at home because the first thing I did was throw away the cheap Walmart Set and purchased these!!I put them in the kitchen draw like they were always there. Of course my husband is more observant than that I thought. He saw the new set laughed at me and said so it broke on you too? Needless to say this is just a really great set to have it surely doesn't break on you and it's nice that they cups and spoons sizes are separated. If you're just looking to replace your old set or just moving into a home this is what you should get. I love the fact that it comes in metric units and Cups. It helped me out a lot when my husband ask for for 1 cup when I'm trying to remember the size in Units! These are easy to clean and fancy when you're cooking! I would add a photo but they look exactly like the picture. Mine arrived fast and had no scratches or marks, just the measurements.

Pros...Like that they’re metal and easy to cleanCons..some sharp edges on rims of cups, sizes on the cups not easily read, looped handles may break off at some point but are fine thus far.Nite...Arrived missing to spoons but after returning a replacement set arrived complete.

These are a great deal, are durable and easy to clean in the dishwasher. My only issue is that it is difficult to read the measurements on the measuring cups.

The steel of the spoons were very dull in appearance and can barely make out the measurement markings, the edges were not smooth and very rough (afraid I might even cut my hands on the edges rough). All in all, I'd say they were very poorly made. The handles would flex at the welds and probably crack over time. I wouldn't recommend these measuring spoons for anyone.

Very sturdy. Letters nicely visible.. Was looking to phase out plastic measuring cups. This purchase is real value for money being a package of measuring cups and spoons. Would definitely recommend

Dishwasher safe, but they are easy to wash out in the sink because they are real stainless steel. We use these everyday for cooking, and they are sturdy and indestructible.
