A treasure trove of Elmer Bernstein scores including rarities unavailable anywhere else.
This is an amazing collection of stereo recordings of Elmer Bernstein scores. I have several of these on LPs but they never sounded this good. The last record has music that is unavailable anywhere else. If you like Bernstein, I suggest you grab a copy of this while it's still available.

CLASSIC ELMER BERNSTEIN: SIX INTO THREE
This fantastic Intrada set of three CDs contains the six Elmer Bernstein LPs produced for the Ava label between 1962-1965. The Ava label, partly formed by Bernstein, only lasted four years but fortunately produced some of his best film music to be preserved on vinyl. As all film music lovers know, this was an unbelievably rich period of film scoring and especially for Bernstein and this collection includes an exciting array of his work including "Walk on the Wild Side", "The Caretakers", the Oscar nominated "To Kill a Mockingbird", "Baby the Rain Must Fall" and "The Carpetbaggers" plus an album devoted to various themes. Many of us have these scores in various reincarnations and Intrada have recently released complete scores for some but this beautifully put together collection is not only an extra bonus for Bernstein fans but an essential historical item for your film music library. An important note is that Intrada secured the pristine three-channel masters for this collection and the result is a stunning stereo quality rarely heard today. The accompanying 40-page booklet contains the original liner notes and album covers.
