Totally Different Game
So different to anything else I've played, and a totally different experience when you play Long John too playing one of the pirates.

Good game, bad pens
Good game. Pieces good quality. Good replay-ability.Small pens do not show up so well but can be overcome with some different wipe off markers.

Original and fun, yet unbalanced
The goal of the game is simple: find the treasure before Long John Silver can reclaim it. Every pirate follows the clues of Long John, but whether these clues are actually true, often remains a mystery. The most original element of this game is that almost all clues pertaining to the whereabouts of the treasure need to be drawn on the map of the island, using a ruler, a compass, a caliper and some other materials. This is pretty cool and really gives the feel of an authentic pirate treasure hunt. Biggest downside of this game is the fact that the hints Long John Silver gives out are quite obvious. The treasure can be found rather quickly, almost never giving the player who portrays Long John Silver (as a kind of 'dungeon master') even the slightest chance of joining in on the hunt. The game feels unbalanced and too easy, but the aesthetics of the game and its treasure finding dynamic are truly great fun.

Great deduction fun
Great fun! The only problem with the game itself is the pens supplied don't show up well on the maps. Grab yourself some "chalk pens" and that'll fix everything!

Fun for a couple of games, gets old fast
Very original and good fun for the first two or three games. This game has a neat concept unlike anything I've played before but it gets old very quickly. Once you've played as a treasure hunter and Long John Silver you've seen everything the game has to offer.Even after one playthrough a lot of my friends had no interest in playing again. They enjoyed that first time but it doesn't seem like anything different will happen in subsequent games.I played about six times with various friends before selling my copy. It was fun showing off such a unique game idea but I'd rather play just about anything else now.

Really fun! Markers are kinda lacking
Just had my first game last weekend with the family. Everyone absolutely loved it! There seemed like many rules to explain but as we played on, we found most of it to be pretty intuitive and easy to grasp. It's a really good game for most settings. Do take note that while the time estimated on the board is 45 mins, my first game lasted around 2 hours including set-up and the rules explaination. The components inside simply feel great and of good quality with the one notable exception of the markers included. I was lucky enough to have tested them before bringing it out to play. The markers in my copy of the game were extremely hard to see on the board, even when using the sepia-colored side of the board. I went out to buy my own whiteboard markers instead, much easier to see and left no stains.

Great Game
Fantastic fun for the whole family. We have several hundred board games in our collection and we're really enjoying this one. Being able to write on the map can seem like a gimmick but it's one that works and really make a fun, different experience from other games.

Draw on the board!
In this game, you gather clues to rule out areas of the island and narrow down the location of the treasure. To do so, you have a personal ‘mini map’ (which is really quite tiny) where you can mark your personal clues, and a larger board where the pieces move and you mark the general clues. Each player has their own-color marker for making these clues on the fully draw-erasable board! It even comes with a tool to draw perfect circles, which is pretty fun to use. Then there is a ruler used to mark ‘miles’ and straight lines, and search circles to mark your search area when you perform either a small or broad search. The board and all the tools wiped off with a microfiber cloth easily (no eraser was included with the game). (Also I do recommend wiping off the rulers or they will get ink on your other pieces.)The rules were a bit confusing at first, especially the functions of Long John Silver, who plays opposing to the rest of the players. Once you figure it out, though, it’s fun! We played with 3 people, in which case there is 1 Silver, and the other two players each take 2 playing pieces so they get extra turns. Because you care where other players move, the game stays involved even when it's not your turn. Our first game, I found the treasure on my very first move. WHAT ARE THE ODDS??? (Well, the person playing Silver put the treasure too close to one of my starting players, that’s all.) So we just moved the treasure and tried again ;)
