Q: how many watts does it use?

The Engel Fridge/freezer consumes 2.5 amperes an hour (30 watts) at a 100% duty cycle (the compressor is always on). Typically, I have noted a duty cycle of approximately 50% on a warm day ( 75 degrees F. or 23.9 C.) with the device set at the '3' setting (yields +10 degrees F. or -17.5 degrees C.) which would mean a wattage of 15 watts. Using the machine at a lower setting (as a fridge for example, instead of a freezer) would yield a lower wattage. Obviously, outside temperature affects the duty cycle of any fridge/freezer.

Q: Are these latches still the lightweight plastic that seem to be the recipient of many complaints? As of 8/10/18?

Mine arrived today 2022-06-17 with a broken latch. They do appear to be lightweight plastic.

Q: If you buy this product on Amazon do you still get the manufacture warranty?

Q: if i used a solar panel directly as my source of my electricity , how much the wattage of my solar panel ?

My old solar setup was just a 50w panel charging a 80Ah 12v battery, and that's not enough for sustained use. My new setup is 400w of panels charging 400Ah of 12v battery, and that's plenty. So somewhere in between. This is for a cabin in northern Wisconsin.It's a good product - runs well, not loud, very well insulated.
