I bought this so I'd have something to clip an ID badge to; as a woman, I more often than not don't have a collar or pockets to clip my badge to, and it was frustrating to clip it to the neckline and have that turn in and look untidy as a result. 18" is the length of most of my necklace chains, but this turned out to be shorter than I was expecting (as a stiffer material, it doesn't dangle as loosely and so doesn't hang quite as far down). Nevertheless, it works, and it's much more attractive and permanent than a piece of yarn or twine! As a functional item, it's fine; I don't know that I would buy this item (with its thickness, color, and length) for any decorative purpose. The clasp is difficult to work but a big step above tying the yarn or twine in the back!

Is shorter than expected but loosened up a bit to fit below collar bone

Don't get it wet it becomes weakened.

The necklace is well made with good materials. I purchased it for my wife to wear with different charms. She loved it.

This necklace broke on me after about two weeks of wear under almost no stress (in the middle of the leather...not at the clasps). Upon further inspection, I realized I could easily pull chunks off with my fingers as if it were made of liquorish. Now I'm curious if it IS made of liquorish, but I'm afraid to taste it.

It looked great at 18", but the lobster clasp mechanism slipped off the cord the first time I tried to put it on.While wearing it, my arms, neck, and chin began to itch. I even felt a little tightness in my chest, so I immediately threw it away.
