High protein, low carb diet that's more strict than the Southbeach diet
I had a hard time following this diet due to the extreme limitations in carbs and because it was so different from my normal carb loaded diet. You need a lot of will power or maybe some strong diet pills :) I did lose weight and so did my friends so it does work while you're on the diet and I think it helped me eat better after I was off the diet. It is a quick weight loss diet for sure if you can do. It's also from another country so I didn't know what some of the things it recommends were (look at the recommended Oatbran Galette you eat daily). I guess in the US we would call that a pancake but one of the main ingredients is non-fat fromage frais or quark. I did some research and discovered that was a kind of cheese but I never could find it. I substituted with low fat ricotta which is what someone suggested.

It works!
I have tried many diets to lose the few extra pounds that have snuk on in the last decade, but most just showed me some tasty healthy new recipes and not much else. I have been following the Dukan diet for 3 1/2 weeks now and have lost 7.5 lbs. The weight loss is steady but noticeable - I have only 4.5 lbs to go until I reach my "true weight" (calculated on the dukan diet website - so easy!). I have found that drinking water really makes a difference in my weight loss - if I miss my recommended amount of water one day, my weight loss slows. Also, I have two servings of tasteless non-thinkening fiber in my morning coffees (one serving per cup) and have experienced no problems with constipation. I highly recommend this diet for those who have had little luck in other attempts. Thank you Pierre Dukan for this priceless gift of freedom from excess weight!

Great addition to the diet
I bought this book for a co-worker that had been steadfast on the Dukan diet for over 6 weeks. Not cheating once, and very successful in her weightloss, I bought this book for her as an incentive to stick with it, and give refreshing ideas to the diet. It did not dissappoint. This book is a fabulous addition to being on the dukan diet, and not having to search high and low for low-fat protein friendly recipes. This is a great addition to chaging your eating habits for good, with much success.

Great Recipe Book....
This is an excellant alternative recipe book which only assists and promotes loss of weight under the Dukan Diet Plan. All recipes are easy to follow and taste great which allows you to maintain the Cruise Phrase of the Dukan Diet due to being able to cook different meals for everyday of the week. This book also highlights the alternative ingedients that are available to maintain the calories at a low level but still taste great.Would definately recommend this book for those serious about losing weight....

Good but better if you are french.
i bought this for a friend so i just skimmed through it. I think you could bypass the original and go directly to this book. The difficult part of the book is that it is originally for the French so some of the ingrediants have different names. It still is a good book and my friend is thrilled with it. C.

Nice diet
This diet works if you can stay on it. It is better than the all meat diets because you can have oat bran and veggies. I have lost weight on this and I do believe that simple carbs are bad for my body type (weight gain and bloat) but I sure miss fruit!. The diet forbids fats, sugars, and carbs. I have never been able to stick to it long enough to reach my desired weight but that is true of all diets I have tried. lol.

I feel so much better physically and mentally
I was attempting to lower my carbohydrate intake. This book really helped me get started in the right direction, I have continued to follow a lot of the diet. I have lost 25 lbs. since being on this diet. That is after having already lost 53 lbs. by eating mostly protein, vegetables and fruit. I feel so much better physically and mentally.

Dukan Diet Recipe Book
This book is the British version of the Dukan Cookbook. Do not buy it in America unless you want to try to convert all the recipes from metric grams to American ounces, cups and teaspoons. Since the same recipes appear in the Cookbook and are already in American measurements, there isn't a point. I wish this information had been included in the description before I bought it and I'd have saved myself $20. I had planned to return it, but my dog (who is mostly blind) caused a cup of coffee to be spilled on it as it sat by my computer while I was beginning the return process. I put it in the recycling bin.

My new best friend !!
Firstly, take time to read about why and how this diet works, and then read the recipe book.I took the book on holiday and planned my menus. I decided to give it my all and I have followed the plan EXACTLY for 2.5 weeks and have lost 9lbs. I feel great, and I'm already looking better - plus no hunger pains, no cravings, and no desire to deviate at all.It's so easy to keep to the recipes providing you get organised first. I have a stock cupboard of my most used ingredients, and shop weekly according to the recipes I've written out. Failure to plan in this case could be planning to fail as they say. It IS different, but that's why it works, and I wish I had started this years ago, but I guess it's never too late.

reasonable guide to useful recipes
bought the book at same time as the main dukan diet book. Alot of the information is duplicated so it is possible to just buy this and not the main Dukan book and still do the diet effectively.reciped are organised into the pahses which helps a lot only confusin is in the sauces section which seems to have a mix from all phases and difficult to know which belongs whereMost of the meals are very dry and lacking a good "gravy" or "jus" to make them edible.the quantities are ok but hte Oat barn gallette says it serves one find it is large enough to feed 2 easily and then we strugle.a suggested weeks menus like in the main book would be useful as well as a more varied plan fish gets a bit boring after a few daysbest recipe tried so far is the chicken curry (attack phase) from the dukan website 6 ingredients and very tasty

Good diet but bad recipe book
This is a great diet in that you will definitely lose weight pretty quickly and fairly easily (if you stick to the rules). It's hard for the first week, but you get used to it and it's really motivating to see the weight drop off each week. However this is a very dull, repetitive and uninspiring recipe book, with no pictures. For example, baked chicken with courgettes, baked chicken with peppers, baked chicken with herbs, baked chicken with spices etc etc. I find I can use or adapt much better and tastier recipes using the Hairy Bikers Diet Book or the Good Food Healthy Recipes app.

The book is fine but as ordered a “new” book I’m a little disappointed to find pages marked with sticky labels on certain pages. Clearly been used before

Dukan diet recipe book
Enjoyed doing the Dukan diet and lost weight quickly and easily but as usual put the weight back on when I stopped! The recipe book was to inspire me to continue. It did to a point but I like a recipe book to show me what the meal is to look like (something to aspire to) and it is not that kind of a book. It is more of a job to read the recipes to decide what to make than an enjoyable way of spending an evening!
