Glass is made from a combination of sand and various other minerals being melted together at extremely high temperatures. This has been done all over the world, though some places are better-known than others. Glass beads have been used in jewellery making for centuries, right back to Roman times and they remain hugely popular to this day. Glass is very versatile, as it can be made into a very large variety of shapes and colours, so can be made into large statement pieces or more subtle, smaller creations.

Lovely iridescent range of colours
Interesting mix of glass bugle beads in a range of pearlescent tones. They look disappointing when they first arrive in a plastic bag, with glass dust obscuring the finish. I had to sort them into little dishes to sort the different colours, which is a bit slow. Once sorted, they look lovely. There were a few broken or imperfect beads but not that many. I have resolved to buy pre-sorted in future just for the ease of it, but these are lovely colours that I don't have in any other bead collection.

What I was looking for!
I got this product because I had knitted some doughnuts and wanted some beads to give a sprinkle effect. These beads did that job very well. I have not counted them so I don't know how many I got in the bag, but for the price I don't really care that much. The only problem I've encountered is that some of the beads were too narrow for me to get the needle I was using through, but that could be solved if I had a thinner needle and because there were so many I was able to find plenty that worked with the needle I had. They came mixed in one bag, but that was what I expected. I have left them mixed as I don't particularly have a reason to sort them out.
