MTD 753-08265 Clutch Cable

This is the second one I bought that came with a ring end and should be an "S" hook end. It's the right length but you'll have to drill the handle opening to except a 1/4" bolt with a ny-lock nut. For $60, now $120, I'm going to modify it. The picture shows an "S" end as it should be for the wheel drive.

At first I thought I ordered the wrong part and initiated my return. Within minutes the seller contacted me to explain that the original part had a z hook on the end and that this replacement part was held by a bolt. Rather than returning I read the instructions and installed the cable. The provided bolt did not fit bit I was able to use a bit and bolt of my own.

This was used to replace the drive engagement mechanism on a CC760es mower and was a direct fit replacement, as other reviewers mentioned the cable appears to be slightly thicker than the original. Installation was easy by tipping mower on its side and propping in place rather than jacking up, removing wheels, etc., as shown on instructions. So far no issues with cable or delivery

Bought this for my Cub Cadet 760ES 33” mower. Not the same as the Z hook but pretty easy to install with the self tapping bolt. Great replacement part.

We have been replacing this part about every 2 years as well and time had come, our cable was down to 2 strands holding the cable in place. Company quickly sent my item. When husband saw it he thought it was the wrong part but I then read other comments on installation, thank you for posting for those that did. Easily installed and working perfectly!

BUYER BEWARE. Item is not as pictured. Comes with eyelet as opposed to z-hook shown in picture.
