great product for casual playing
i am a intermediate harp player and just bought these for goofing around places. they were great for something to beat on since they are plastic. but they actually play quite well for the price. i had to tune all of them though which does take a little time but woth it. they are great sounding and not bad benders. great for beginners!

Good quality for a beginner set!
First off, I would like to disagree with several other reviews about this being a 'toy' or even less. I am not really a musician, but I have heard of Hohner many times in the past, and would always consider them a very good manufacturer of harmonicas. They make a high quality product, and this is no exception. By the way, I don't think ANYONE who would use a harmonica for recording or live performance would buy a unit that is only $3-$4. The way I see it, this is a budget beginner/entry-level harmonica set, and anyone who thinks differently should have no problem buying a better quality piece/set and stop leaving negative reviews on the lower-end items.I purchased these for my son. Not sure why, but he developed a strong interest in getting one to learn how to play. He was ecstatic that he got not just one, but THREE. They are made of plastic. What did you expect for this price? They seem to be very good quality, and even I found them all very easy to play. It seems very little airflow is required to get a solid tone, either in or out.PROS:PRICE -- Basically 3 for the price of 1Good quality, name brandVery good soundNice storage caseCONS:They are made of plastic, which I assume affects the sound, but does not affect the playabilityI would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a practice set or beginner harmonica. You get three pieces in a padded zippered storage case, with elastic straps that hold the harmonicas in place. They say you get what you pay for, and to a point I am a believer in that, but in this case I think you get more than what you pay for. I was expecting to pay $10 or more for a single low-end harmonica.

I like the case........
Better for the case than the harmonicas..... they do not work well and I think would discourage anyone for being able to develop playing skills.....

Inexpensive
Affordable 3 pack. Not best quality. Good for just messing around. The case is pretty cool.

Don't get HooDoo'd
I bought these with the desire for some cheap, entry level harmonicas to just play around with and to see if I would be able to learn to play them. I was very disappointed. First impression was the all black finish gave them a very cool appearance. But then I could SMELL them! They had an odor that was a mixture of Grease, paint, and horse manure. Yuck. When I started to play, I noted some pitches didn't sound. Holes 1-4 on the C model would not sound unless I just barely blew at all. They made no sound with Full force air. I tried the G model and it worked but none of them was as loud as I would like.Due to the bad smell, the defective C model, and the cheapness of the all-plastic construction I returned them for a refund. Quality is just a small amount better than the harmonica that costs 10 tickets at the arcade. I'm surprised hohner put its name on them.
