Son lost my last pair so I was able to snag this pair from Amazon Vine for a review. These are super high quality wire cutting pliers. I've been able to cut any wire I've tossed at them including 8 and 4 gauge with a few extra snips but it got the job done. The handle is a smooth rubbery non-slip when you hands get sweaty but if you get oily hands they are not the best. I wish they were textured as that's great for all usage. Nice thing is they have a lifetime warranty. Break them or they get dull for any reason and you just either find a store that sells the Crescent name or contact them and you get a replacement no questions asked. As per the pictures they come in consumer packaging and appear to be legit. I've gotten some knockoff on Amazon before but compared to the ones in store locally they look exactly the same.

I already have one of these, as well as other Crescent Tools products. I have found them to be well made and durable - will probably outlast their owner. I have only one issue with this purchase, which is the reason for four stars instead of five. It is made in China - all of my existing Crescent Tools products have been made in America. My future tool purchases will be of a competing brand whose tools are made in America.

I got these to replace my old ones because the rubber handles kept twisting and coming loose. These are very high quality and go through wires like butter. I haven’t had a chance to use it on any real metal but they seem very capable. I only do light work and small DIY projects, but these have come in handy and are a must have to make your life a little easier.

My husband has been doing a lot of electrical work around our house, and since he's not a professional - just a DIYer - he didn't have heavy-duty joint pliers like these in his tool bag. After seeing his struggle to cut thicker wires I ordered these Crescent pliers for him. As soon as they arrived he tried them out using scrap pieces of wire and was quite pleased with how easy cutting them became once he had the proper tool. He also mentioned how well designed the handles are and how easy it was to get comfortable using them. I'm sure they'll get a lot of use and I believe they'll last a good long time. The price certainly seems right.

These are very well built and heavy duty. I've cut a handful of things and the edges seem to be holding well. I will update later if I start cutting more metal (nail heads, etc) and it degrades. For now though, this is working well and has a good angle to get flush against the surfaces I'm cutting.

These pliers are heavy duty and great quality. They work very well. Recommended!

The jaws are sharp and properly shaped. The product description has an error in the weight. It states it weighs .05 kilograms and also 1.6 ounces. It actually weighs 10.2 ounces (291 grams or .291 Kilograms). It is a forged tool, not cast, so it is quite strong. It is made in Taiwan, not the PRC (People’s Republic of China), and meets the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) standard for hand tools. This is a fine tool and will last many years of everyday service for an electrician.

The grip is not as shown. I wouldn't call them "cushion" grip. They have a standard single layer grip.
