Artist's Photo Reference: Flowers

Helpful open source photos for an artist
The books are out of print and I know there are sources on line to find pictures that artists can copy. The thing I like is having a book. I like to flip from page to page pulling together my own combination. The pictures give clear shots of different types of flowers. It's a great resource for my library and I am completely sure the photos are all free to use.

Great artist's referencd
This book has photography of popular flowers and from several viewpoints. A very useful reference material for artists wanting to paint realistic flowers and want an art work that is accurate and realistic. Without having to go to a floweriest hoping to find the flowers I want to use in my painting. This is a great artists reference book and the photographer also included several step by step guide using watercolors. Great help especially for me living 100 miles from anywhere. I have a large flower garden with blooming trees and plants year round, but not all flowers at all times. I highly recommend this photographic reference book for artists of other than photographic preferred medium.

Not as useful as I expected--colors too faded
The used copy of this book I purchased had more sun fading than I expected. The pictures appear a strange color, not vibrant at all. If I were purchasing it again I would choose a better quality if it was available. I feel I paid too much for a poor quality of the used book.

GREAT REFERENCE FOR THE BOTANICAL ARTIST
I do botanical painting and don't always have fresh flowers for reference-- or my specimens die before I finish my representation. Thus, this book provides a handy reference. It also informs the artist as to what is typical of a various flower forms. It is always in my painting bag.

More flowers, please
I liked the book. It has lots of useful photos, and the author, being an artist himself, designed the book with the artist in mind, which I found wonderful. The only reason I did not give it a "perfect" score, is because I think there are some very common flowers "missing", such as hollyhocks, violets and a few others. But considering that there are hundreds of flowers, it is understandable that these flowers are not there.

Content
This photo reference will be helpful with my acrylic painting exercises. I am content with my purchase, considering that it was used and that my purchase May benefit others through Goodwill.

great reference - don't crop too short
some of the flower pics are truncated and doesn't show the entire bloom and nearest leaves

Great source book
This is a brilliant book for any artist to get, very well presented with the detail of each flower standing out on a plain back background - there are also drawing/painting lessons, which aren't relevant to my own medium, but which nevertheless have proven helpful. Well worth buying.

Very pleased, just what I wanted.
I had already seen this book at the library so knew what I was ordering. Perfect reference for art work.

Images would have been of better use taken with a macro lens
Images would have been of better use taken with a macro lens. Opting for fewer in number but clearer detail for each image would be a more useful option. The actual size of the images were not of use for study purpose.
