It’s been hard to find Milwaukee battery that is actually real and for a good price. This is actual Milwaukee. Works great and you can feel the quality. Great packaging and good prices during sale events. Lasts about a week depending on how much you use it. You can tell the difference in how the tools operate as well. Was an awesome gift for my dad!

First of all, this thing is a beast! Purchased for work as we need two 5ah batteries to do the greasing we need to do. With this battery, only one battery and no charger is required. This may seem trivial, but when working on ~300 ft. wind towers, the fewer things you take up with you the better. This is not the battery you want to have on your drill as it will wear you out. I also wouldn't use it on an impact as the vibrations and weight combination would tear the case apart. If you need a battery that just lasts, this will work.

I was using 5 ah batteries in my Milwaukee 16 inch chain saw. Now it is a beast with the 12 ah one. I never expected the saw to have the power that my Stihl gasoline has. But this battery has really made my saw so very convenient in limbing out a tree or cutting logs appropriate for a 16 inch saw. I let the sharp chain do the work, no pressure and it does surprisingly well thanks to this more powerful battery.

I used to buy the knock offs a lot. About half my batteries are. They are all made in China, so no matter. Or so I thought. Over the last 5 years or so I have accumulated a bucket full of batteries that no longer hold much charge or won’t fully charge. All but one of the failures were knock offs. This might be caused by the charger electronics or it’s the batteries or both. Anyway, I have started to stick to the expensive stuff from Milwaukee. So far so good. These Milwaukee batteries run my blower twice as long as the (3 year old) knock offs with supposedly the same capacity.

If you are needing an extra battery for a Milwaukee chainsaw don't bother with a 5.0 or 8.0 as they will be frustrating when they overheat and shut down. The 12 is the only one that delivers the amps needed without crashing. Having two 12's is the way to go if you need enough juice to cut a standard pickup load (1/2 cord-ish) without recharging in the field. gave 3 stars on value because ultimately two 12's is the way to go and dropping $500 on batteries is twice what the saw costs...for the most part, 12's are too bulky and heavy to use on drill, etc. so the 12's get dedicated just to the saw in my experience.
