Less expensive than the others and is as simple as simple is!
In my community newspaper, I read about a series of break-ins using a technique called bumping. Bumping? Never heard of this so I researched it. After watching several YouTube videos and presenters using bumping, I was shocked how easy it is to open deadbolt locks! I went to Amazon and searched and came across Dead Bolt Secure Prevent Lock Bumping. You will see others that essentially work the same, look the same, but cost so much more. Dead Bolt Secure Prevent Lock Bumping is 18/10 steel. Looks good and blends in with my door hardware. Installing it is as simple as simple can be. I'm female, vision compromise and it took me under 5 minutes and that included getting my Philips from the tool box. I read questions asking if it would accidentally flip closed. No. It installs just as the picture on Amazon. It flips closed or open to the side and take a bit of pressure to do it. I have another one in my cart to install on another door. This simple lock really gives one a feeling of security. A burglar would have to use a battering ram to open the door.

Good, but is now $10 more than the original asking price of $6.99
This product adds an extra layer of security on your deadbolt locks. I have installed one on each of myexterior entry doors. Does it work? Dunno....To date, no one has attempted to jump-key my doors...knock wood. What I don't understand is how why this product jumped $10 in price over what I paid for it back in 2016. Is there a shortage?Sure, prices to go up now and then, but 10 bucks? The product is worth the $6.99 I paid for it, I guess, but it is not worth $16.99.For that price, the consumer should expect something more 'heavy duty'.

Works as advertised if properly installed.
Easy to install and does secure the deadbolt very well. Only complaint is the flip down part on the dead bolt secure is rather sharp metal and can scratch the lock throw if mounted too closely to it in the locked position. The lock mechanism doesn't move at all when screws on my Schlage are securely tightened down. Reviewers who say deadbolt can be still be turned with the dead bolt secure installed probably don't understand how a bump key works. With the real key for your dead bolt you may be able to force the dead bolt secure to turn but a bump key takes a bit of finesse to open a deadbolt. Perhaps apply some locktight to ring to secure this device even better to your deadbolt?

An Alarming Rise in Key Bumping and Why You Need Dead Bolt Secure
There is a recent and alarming rate of key bumping across the country. Don't make it easy for criminals by not securing your dead bolts. Just use this easy to install and theft-proof device. I have purchased two of these and it only takes less than 5 minutes to install. You do not need to completely remove the deadbolt to install. From the inside of the door, just loosen the two deadbolt screws, slip the two rings behind the dead bolt and re-tighten the two screws..That's it: After you're finished, when you want to secure, just flip down the latch over the dead bolt. There's no way for someone to turn a key and open the deadbolt, or a key bumper to open the deadbolt once the latch is down. Note: This security device can only be used from the inside. There is no way to use it from the outside of the door to secure the deadbolt once you leave your home.IMPORTANT: If you're worried about locking yourself out, don't worry. The latch flips up firmly.and stays in place. You can visit YouTube and see how key bumping works. By installing this simple device, you can feel secure while you're in your home.I highly recommend.

Dead Bolt Secure
Feels cheap and not as secure as other options out there. I also ordered the Flip Guard door lock and was very impressed by that unit that comes in different finishes. When you close the flip guard it completely covers your dead bolt. Its a little more expensive, but a small price to pay when dealing with your families security!

It looks like it was a second or reject type production
Only a so so product. What I received was not what I would consider a cost value product. The finish is not as described but rather a spray paint type finish. It looks like it was a second or reject type production. There was a sharp shard sticking out the edge of the part that you flip over to be able to unlock your deadbolt. I had to file it down and make it smooth or else a person would risk cutting there finger every time they used it. It's an excellent concept. Just not well made. Too bad. I would have purchased many many more for my multiple door units.

Great!
It works perfectly as intended. I was a little freaked out after watching a video of someone easily "bumping" a deadlock. This device makes me feel safer. I wish it came in oil rubbed bronze because the finish sticks out like a sore thumb. (I do plan to refinish it)
