Expensive, but it's a really nice skillet
Okay, so this was a questionable late-night irresponsible purchase of mine, I really didn't mean to spend so much on a skillet. But my old skillet was a mess, and this was one on sale, and impulse purchases happen.Yes, it's expensive. No, I probably don't need something quite this nice. I'm a home cook, that's all, nothing fancy. But I must say, this is a REALLY nice skillet. It's got a nice amount of heft to it. The glass cover is nice. The handle -- both on the skillet and on the top -- don't get hot when the pan does. And it is amazing at how it distributes the heat!I think they say it's dishwasher safe but in the few dozen times I've used it thus far I've not put it in the dishwasher. For one, it's a little too big to fit easily in my dishwasher. Moreover, I hear it's better for the pan to hand wash. And it really is easy to clean, a little water and soap and things wipe out real easy.Would I buy it again? Probably, not simply because it's a lot of money for a skillet. But as far as impulse purchases go I have to say it's one of my better ones.UPDATE: Within the first few months I managed to shatter the lid of the skillet. Glass everywhere! That's when I learned Calphalon doesn't sell replacement lids (seriously, Calphalon?). Since it's a 13-inch skillet, I looked for a 13-inch lid and ended up buying "Victoria Glass Lid for 13 Inch Cast Iron Skillet, Frying Pan Lid with Stainless Steel Air Flow Knob."Don't do that. It was too small and didn't fit. After months of using a baking sheet as a lid, someone suggested I try "Lodge Tempered Glass Lid (15 Inch) – Fits Lodge 15 Inch Cast Iron Skillets and 14 Inch Cast Iron Woks" and it works! It's maybe half an inch too big, but better too big than too small. It'll fit flat over the skillet and trap the steam in when needed.

Worth the money
I was going to go with a cheaper option of this pan, but I had a Caphalon pan previously that lasted many, many years, and decided to stick to what I knew. I am SO glad I did! This pan is huge and can cook most dinners with ease. So absolutely awesome, I don’t think I could cook without it now.

Best purchase of 2019
This pan is amazing! It's heavy and well made. You can cook absolutely anything in it! It goes from stovetop to oven and saves time washing dishes. One day I added egg whites to the pan, THEN realized that I had forgotten to spray the pan with oil. I was mortified UNTIL the egg whites slid across the surface with ease! I was amazed and feeling a little cocky so I decided to melt some low fat shredded cheese in the pan to put on my eggs... it too slid across the pan with an effortless push of the spatula! After this potentially disastrous breakfast was complete I wiped the pan CLEAN with a wet paper towel! It's pricey but it's money well spent. The helper handle does get hot when it's in use but it's stainless steel so totally expected. I will say that it may not be the pan for someone looking for a lightweight option. Other than that, there is no reason you shouldn't add this to your cart immediately!

Love!!!!!
I purchased several months ago. Best gift ever! Works great for stir fry and any other type of cooking. Cleans up very easily. It's a little heavy but very well built. It has made cooking larger amounts easier.I use it more often than I thought I would.

Be careful when purchasing Condition: Used - Like New
Overall the pan is fine; heat distribution is great, easy to clean, can be used for many purposes. But, be careful when purchasing as Condition: Used - Like New. I did save almost $40 US on the product and, as promised: Item will come in original packaging. Packaging will be damaged. What I didn't expect was a 2 inch scrape / gash on the outside of the pan. It won't affect cooking, it shouldn't affect cleaning, but the aesthetics is, well, just a bit rough. I could send it back to Amazon if I lived in the US but I no longer do. Getting it shipped back is actually a bit pricey so I'll deal with it and I'm sure it'll produce the cooking results I'm looking for. I just wish that scratch wasn't there.

Veratile and well worth the money!
As some other reviewers have pointed it out the cost for this pan is relatively higher but in the end is completely worth the money. We have used this pan for Stir Fry, Egg Frittata as well as used it for making Filet Mignon in the oven. The size and depth of the pan and its non stick surface are the best of any pan we own. It cleans up very easily and can be cleaned in the dishwasher. I highly recommend this skillet.

it's huge, but I need that
I have a few things I like to cook where I need a good quality large skillet with a cover. For example, there is an Indian Chicken Curry recipe that fills up my old 12" skillet to the brim. We like to add extra veggies to this recipe, and there was not much room to spare. This skillet and cover work perfectly for that recipe, and a couple others like it. We have a smallish kitchen, so we store this monster on top of the wall-mounted dish cabinet.
