My cockatoo loves it!
My cockatoo can unscrew this toy, whereas, when I twist/attempt to open it, all I get are sore hands. Closing is tricky,, as well.. So, I put toys, not foods in it. But he loves this toy, so I deal w/it, and, it's very durable.

Catalina Macaw's Favorite Forager
My macaw Hannibal loves this ball. I regularly stuff it with magazine strips and put shelled peanuts in the center for him to work at. I've actually bought two of these over 8 months because the plastic can snap due to his bite force, which is expected. It can be extremely tough to unscrew the ball after play, but I still rate this high because of how much Hannibal loves it.

Vine balls not safe!!
I thought this would be a good foraging toy for my Quaker parrot, the foraging ball itself is great, the vine four vine balls it comes with however, are not safe for your birds. They aren’t dyed, they are painted. I tried soaking them and nothing would come off, if it’s dyed it bleeds, if it’s paint it doesn’t. If a bird were to eat paint they could get very sick and even die. It’s a great product but the vine balls should not be included or should be naturally colored with human grade vegetable dyes. Also it doesn’t come with a c-clip which could be inconvenient for some people, luckily I already had some at home. Would recommend if no vine balls are included. 6/10

Made my bird "hoppy"!
I was a bit concerned about being able to open it after reading the reviews, but I thought I'd give it a try and ordered it. It does come prefilled with foraging toys, but I had some of my own to add. I was able to open it up (I have difficulty opening a jar and this wasn't as difficult as that for me). I did have difficulty closing it back up however. It's hard to get the threads lined up. I did finally get it closed and hung it in my cockatoo's cage. For the first week he pretty much ignored it, so I lowered it and brought it closer to a perch. Another week went by without much apparent activity until today when I came into the room to find an excitedWoody hopping up and down on the bottom of his cage next to the bottom of the toy, which he had manged to remove without any problem. I put all of the foraging toys back in and screwed it back up, but in only a few minutes Woody (creator of toothpicks) had it off again and was hopping up and down gleefully. Up to this point, I have tried not to screw it closed too tightly for fear of not being able to open it again, but this next time, once I can get the threads lined up properly, I'll close it as tightly as possible. To sum up, though Woody isn't really playing with it as a "foraging" toy, he is getting extreme enjoyment out of it!

Good product
Good product for small to medium birds. My macaw tore it up in 2 hours.

Great quality at a great price!
I bought this for my rats as a foraging toy and they absolutely love it. It’s very sturdy and seems durable. The openings are just big enough to stick their little noses in. It’s perfect highly recommended.

These are A Hoot!
Our African Grey has destroyed every previous toy; but not these. It keeps him occupied & he seems fascinated with them every morning.Yes, it is difficult & frustrating for us to open / close ... but it impossible for our African Grey to take apart.Getting these foraging toys was a hoot!*********UPDATE******** (after three weeks of use)Our African Grey broke the plastic ball @ a slot adjacent to the screw joint (weakest point)It was great while it lasted, but the parrot found the "weakest link" ... not best design by manufacturer********UPDATE #2 ***** (after purchasing 5 of these, one after another)Our African Grey requires some challenge, or is bored & destructive. He loves this foraging ball.We have learned each foraging ball lasts about 90 days before he is able to destroy itTo achieve the 90 day duration requires light lubrication of the threaded joint with petroleum jellyThe lubrication facilitates both opening & closing the foraging ball(although the secret is to open & close the foraging ball with two screwdrivers, one each passed thru the slots in both halves of the foraging ball)To summarize, for this poorly designed foraging ball to last about 90 days, requires light lubrication so the two halves of the ball may be tightly closed each & every time

Great for both first time and experienced foragers!
I put in either veggies or crinkle paper with a nutriberry or few in the middle. Both my amazons love this thing, even my girl who won't use any of the other plastic foragers. The one bad thing I have to say is you have to be careful how you screw it together; if one part is even slightly lopsided it becomes a pain to unscrew. If you do make this mistake you can run cold water in the inside and hot water on the outside to make it easier to unscrew.
