the little book of smart Kindle Edition

I'm sure Veloce publishing thought it would be cute to publish a book about a small car that was 5.5" square, but it sure makes it hard to read. It's crammed with great photos and gives a pretty good overview of the Smart car history, mostly prior to it's American debut. Many of the models (like the roadster) depicted never made it to the USA. Reviewing this book in 2020 just as Mercedes has sold the brand to China, its too bad we don't have a more objective and recently written book explaining the rise and fall of the Smart car. But the rocky beginnings and glory years are pretty well laid out in this tiny book.

I own a smart, so I'm not a basher. I also am not a star struck reviewer like the others who reviewed this little book. I was really hoping for a more in-depth look at the company. This is a rather disappointing picture book compiled with photos and captions that read right out of advertising literature. I could have cut and pasted this book from info readily available on the web in less time than it took to read it. A shame, really. The writer seems like just another owner/enthusiast with a knack for gathering pictures. There is no concept or historical background and little if any behind the scenes info. If you like a pablum-esque picture book, tiny enough to fit in a glove box, go right ahead. If you're looking for a story of the smart, written by someone actually involved with the product in some way, look further. The only saving grace was the $10 price. Any more than that and it would indeed be a ripoff.

I own a Smart Fortwo so this was the perfect book to learn about on of my favorite cars I have ever owned. I have owned exactly 75 different cars during my 50 years of owning cars for me, my wife and daughter and this is one of my favorites. I have read the book and was extremely impressed. Great car and great book. THEY ARE A LOT SAFER than most consider.

Got this for a Christmas present for a friend, that is waiting for his SMART car to arrive. He said he liked the photos,but that the book had a defect and some of the pages were smudged. Kind of sad, but it did help him with his SMART fix for a while.Having a MINI i know exactly what waiting on a car can do to you!

Great book!! I purchased this book when I first got my smart fortwo to learn a bit more about the car and it's history. A great book at a great value from the seller and Amazon!

The book was more like an advertisement brochure.I have two smart cars so obviously I'm a bit of a smart fan but these cars aren't perfect my any means. This book didn't mention any of the down sides to these cars. I would also have liked more technical information. If you've bought a smart car and need reassurance that you did the right thing, read this book and you'll be convinced. Considering the price of this little book, it's not bad - it does give you the basic history of smart cars.

Excellent pocket book on this fabulous car. I am on my third Smart at present, but just hate the 2015 design not yet launched!

Many pictures and ambivalent comments but not much real information. Fine to thumb through but not a long standing reference.

An interesting book, with the history of Smart, useful, this book was bought in 2013, and needs updating, as it is about 4-5 years old.

Easyread I learned loads of stuff that was not on the internet and it was small for my bog time
