Q: Are these shirts still satin lined, like i reme from the 70's?

I have worn these shirts for a number of years and don't remember satin lining. They are lined across the shoulder yoke with a material different than the shirt. Hope this helps.

Since you didn't mention your actual size, I'll just give you my experience. I have worn Pendleton wool "Board" shirts (and other styles) since 1963. I was a surfer when the big craze hit. I still have my first Pendleton, a Medium. Since I've had a lot of birthdays, my sizing has changed; I wear XL as an outer shirt or light jacket, and Large for the everyday outer shirt. You can call me a size 44 short. I think a double X would be about the size of one of the Pendleton throws (no disrespect to the people who actually have to wear them), hence the added cost. I recommend you buy an XL from Amazon, they have an excellent return policy. If it's too small for your application, turn it around and pay the extra bucks. Pendletons are worth every cent.

Q: Im 5'8" 150lbs will a medium tall be too long? Or go with regular medium?

My son is 6'1" and 165 pounds. He gets the regular medium and it fits him very well. He's never ordered the medium tall.

Since it is 100% wool, and it is most likely pre-shrunk, it may not shrink very much. I would try shrinking it in phases. First, wash it in cold water, let it hang dry, and then try it on. That might work. It's a bit of a gamble but if you wash it in hot water and dry it in a warm or hot dryer (like I do to shrink a new pair of Levi's 501's), it might possibly shrink to the fit you want, but it might also shrink more than you want it to.
