Product Description For anyone who's ever been picked on, put down or pushed around, your heroes are here! Rob Schneider, David Spade and Jon Heder (Napoleon Dynamite) star as three older guys who know what it's like to be bullied. After catching some nasty neighborhood kids picking on a friend's son, they strike back by forming a three-man baseball team to challenge the state's best youth teams. Now, cheered on by every nerd, geek and misfit in town, these underdogs are about to have a field day in this slapstick hit comedy from the director of Big Daddy and Happy Gilmore and producer Adam Sandler. .com Credit The Benchwarmers for achieving the impossible: It makes the 2005 remake of The Bad News Bears look like a masterpiece. They're essentially the same film, with the same lowbrow PG-13 humor (mostly involving bodily functions, broad slapstick, little people, nerds, geeks, and nose-picking), but this baseball comedy earns a few brownie points for its heart-warming message about including non-athletic kids (i.e. "benchwarmers") in Little League baseball, if only to boost their confidence and give them a moment of ball-field glory. It's a pleasant sentiment intended to encourage under-achievers to feel good about themselves, and that makes this loose-and-goofy vehicle for Rob Schneider, David Spade, and Napoleon Dynamite's Jon Heder an easygoing time-killer. Parents with good taste should be warned that this movie has no taste at all (it's hopelessly mired in the swamp of fart jokes and juvenile sight-gags), and is there really a need for mild profanity in a movie like this? That said, there are a few laughs in the efforts of Schneider and his ultra-nerdy pals as they form a team of rejects and go to bat against an enemy squad of current and former school-bullies, led by former late-night talk-show host Craig Kilborn. In addition to Schneider and Spade, Saturday Night Live alumni Jon Lovitz and Tim Meadows show up for an easy paycheck, and director Dennis Dugan handles the dumb-and-dumber shtick as if he were on vacation, sipping margaritas and shamelessly going for the easy laughs. If that's what you're looking for, you've come to the right place. --Jeff Shannon

Love this movie
I bought this bc we lost our original copy at home. I was a bit nervous to buy an older movie, that wasn’t that popular for “new” but I’m pleasantly surprised! The box was wrapped in plastic like a brand new movie. I’m very happy! This is a movie from my childhood so I’m pretty fond of it, my brother sister and I can recite pretty much every line. For 2005 standards, very funny with some good jokes. But for 2019 standards, funny with some offensive and homophobic jokes in there. But it was written by Adam Sandler and you know he’s kind of a one trick pony. The movie hasn’t aged well but it’s a pretty funny movie, just don’t laugh at the offensive parts.

Absolutely hilarious, had me in stitches all the way through
The Benchwarmers is incredibly funny it's been a while since a movie has made me laugh so much. The cast was great in this particularly Jon Heder and Nick Swardson they both stole every scene that they were in but Rob Schneider and David Spade also provide some good laughs as well Schneider not so much because his performance in this is a bit more laid back than other movies we've seen him in such as Deuce Bigalow or The Animal but he's still great. Although this movie has a lot of dumb comedy, slapstick and fart jokes it does have a lot of heart as well reminding the viewer about bullying which is one of the main plot elements.Blu Ray quality: This 1.85:1, 1080p, Dolby Digital 5.1 high definition transfer is solid and delivers both strong video and audio quality. Now video quality is very good and definitely superior than the DVD, colours are very eye popping they are rich and vibrant and blacks are very solid, visible detail is mostly excellent although the few scenes indoors are a little soft here and there but luckily the entire movie is mostly set outdoors on the Baseball fields. Audio quality is also very good it's not room filling but it's a dialogue driven movie not an action movie so it's not gonna be blowing your ears off but it's all very loud and clear when they are speaking and the movie score is rich in uncompressed sound, also This US import is confirmed region Free so it will work on PS3's and every Blu ray player. All in all a very funny movie with plenty of laugh out loud moments and also a solid Blu Ray release from Sony that I highly recommend you purchase right away if your looking for a good laugh.
