Well the bike has not been stolen .....

I am using this lock system on a hybrid gas/electric 26" bike that i built from scratch and i am surprised at how secure this lock really is.I was a little skeptical at first because of the low price but would recommend this item to everybody that owns a bicycle large or small.

I purchased this for my son's bike. It appears to be well made and he has been using it with no issues so far.

For the most part, it’s fine. But the locking mechanism was jamming up real bad after only a month. I couldn’t get the key all the way in/out. Tried for fifteen minutes one day and finally got it to lock. I used some WD-40 on it and that loosened things up, and it has been working okay ever since. I expect this to continue to be an issue. I would rate it higher if this happened after even 6 months of use, but one just doesn’t cut it. I’d pass if I were you.

I don't leave my bike outside or even lock it up for long periods of time. I also don't live in a places where bike theft is rampant. So I need a lock that will deter thieves who will see my bike locked and move on to bikes that are not locked as well. Autlead fit my budget and my purposes quite well. The lock is hefty and with a keyhole cover which means I can close it and water will not penetrate the lock mechanisms rusting it. The cable is plenty long and the bracket fits my bike and will probably fit yours. A Great bargain for under $15!

I wanted to like this, I really did. It is heavy and I trust it to keep my bike safe. But the lock is ridiculous. Neither key I received works very well. It sometimes takes me several minutes to get it locked correctly. The key gets stuck, doesn't turn, has to be jiggled around, and it isn't helpful that you have to use the key to secure the lock as well as unlock it. For example, you have the turn the key to unlock it and pull it apart, then use it again to put it back together. I don't know why this is because it's extremely inconvenient, especially considering the shoddiness of the key itself. I've dropped the lock piece on my foot more than once trying to lock/unlock it and it generally just makes the end of my commute more stressful. I'll be looking for something with a more reasonable locking mechanism.

This lock design is very sturdy and heavy-duty which is why I bought it. Though, the locking mechanism is very hard to use and takes multiple attempts in order to successfully lock/unlock. I had these problems since day 1. The key has to go in absolutely perfectly in order to work. After about 3 months of use, it began getting significantly harder and harder to unlock. After 5 months of using it, I could not get the lock un-done at all and it was stuck on my bike! I brought it to many different people to try and unlock (using it's own key!) and no one else could get it either. I ended up having to dissemble the entire break system in order to get the lock off. I will not use this lock again for fear it will be permanently stuck. I will be purchasing another brand of U-lock. Please don't waste your money like I did.

It’s a sturdy lock but the lock part itself is very difficult to work. I have to spend several minutes jiggling the key trying to get it to go all the way into the hole and once it’s in there have to spend more time getting it to turn and lock/unlock. It’s really not easy to use and I hate have to be bent over trying to get it to work. Also, there is a cover you can turn to cover the hole for the lock, but the cover spins all the way around in a 360 degree angle so I have no idea where the hole is. I think it’s supposed to have stoppers on it so it can’t be turned all the way around but if that’s the case mine has been broken since it was received. Would not order again.
