Not as Shown
These looked like antique brass in the photo and I needed them for my antique secretary desk. The price was good so I ordered them. When I got them, they were silver metal. I shouldn't have gone by the picture but since it was an actual photo of them, I trusted it. I feel it was a misrepresentation but I was so glad it was a prime order with free returns. I advise everyone who buys something like this to have a prime account. It was just a matter of printing a label or barcode and dropping it off. And don't rely on the photo to be your guide. Read everything in the description and, if it doesn't seem right, it probably isn't.

Nothing works to prevent slam
I have tried everything but nothing prevents toy box from slamming.converted all measurement from MM to inches. Followed all installation instructions exactly .Use the tightening on both closures. Lid will hold at 90 and 45 degrees but gives way below to slam lid.Lid might weigh 16pounds (8KG approx)

Slams at low angles
First, directions are a terrible translation, w/poor images, all dimensions in mm. The real problem is that even with two hinges installed, these could not keep the lid of a lovely oak toy chest from slamming when the opening got down to about 25°. They hold the lid open at large angles, such that you need good pressure to lower it, but that won't protect kids' fingers. Now I have drilled holes in an antique (inside out of sight at least) and wasted my money. Years ago I installed a different slow close hinge on a This End Up toy chest with a huge heavy lid, no problems. I will try Rockler.

Great hinges!
I bought these for a Hope Chest I built for my daughter and they exceeded my expectation. I ended up only using one as it is more than strong enough to hold top of the chest open and closes nice and smooth. They were easy to install and adjust. I didn't follow their instructions and assembled the hinge first and then attached it to the chest. I would recommend.

Deceptive Seller Still At It
The seller is still only including one hinge arm even though the page advertises a pair. The hardware is good and much better than the plastic soft close alternatives.

Won’t let the kid slam on your head or hands!
I got these to hold the lid up on a toy box I’d converted into a litter box enclosure. Every time I cleaned the box I’d get hit in the head by the lid. That got old quickly! Now it closes when I want it to instead of on it’s own.

ONLY ONE HINGE! NOT TWO!
Only received one hinge. Not two like the description stated.

Not what I expected
Not even close to their photo shown.Mine had a huge ugly spring on it and it popped open when I tried to even touch it. Might be okay for industrial or business application but not for the cedar chest I built.Returned.
