Summary: 12 Rules for Life: An Antidote to Chaos by Jordan B. Peterson

i'm glad I bought this summary (before I spent money on the full-length book). There were some good points early on in this book, but I do think it is overly simplistic to simply attribute bullying to a persons posture, confidence level, and the like. The thing that attracts bullies is anyone who is 'different' in any way from the persons around them. So, that actually means that a person with good posture and plenty of confidence could end up being bullied by a group of sneaky cowards who lack that confidence. You can be bullied if you are better at something, a really nice person among sharks etc. Sure, a submissive, unconfidant, slouching person is more likely to be bullied, but it isn't the only type that draws bullies.Chapters later in the book turned me off, especially when I went to scan the full-length version of the book. So, this summary book was a great help in my deciding NOT to buy the full-length version.

My adult son asked for this book for Christmas. When it arrived I glanced inside the book & ended up not able to put it down. The format is that of briefly describing each chapter of a bigger, detailed book by Jordan Peterson, hitting the high/important points of each chapter. It was very well done & the information of great value to our society today. I plan to order a couple more copies as additional gifts. Very memorable points, ex in Ch 3: explains why we get in the habit of refusing to accept responsibility for our own lives. He ends each chapter with “key take-always”/ highlights in simple single sentences. A lot of good material to consider in a mere 60 pages. Well worth the time.

I was all set to give this book 4 stars, but I didn't do the review right after I read the book. As I went through the next couple days a situation came up in my personal life and I remembered what I'd read in 12 Rules for Life. I instantly knew what to do, because I believed in the advice given in the book. From 4 stars to 5 stars because your book helped me to better understand a situation which made me respond differently than I normally would. And you know what? It was a good decision. I understand that I was missing the boat before I read this book. Thank you.

Thank you for writing a great book! I've been recently involved in a friendship where frank communication has really opened both of us up to the possibility of a fulfilling experience that we would not being enjoying otherwise. It takes courage and strength and this book has inspired me to say what I really mean and let the chips fall where they may and then go from there with a commitment to share the moments as they come and grow into a future we both never imagined possible. I'm so grateful to read your book.

Not a bad Summary of Jordan peterson's book.But seriously read the whole thing!This is what you get your "woke" younger sibling so they can transition into full length literature. Cause you know, A.D.D.

While I recognized that the 12 Rules by Jordan Peterson to be an important book, I found it to be boring to read. This summary did a great job of chopping out the meandering prose and distilling only the serious teachings that have made this book a best seller.

This is excellent for people who have a hard time following what Jordan Peterson talks about. There are key points highlighted at the end of each chapter. These key points can be used for a discussion.
