Smooth "skin" is actually a 2mm layer of closed-cell foam glued to a foam base - unfortunately the top layer was slightly smaller than the base, resulting in a sticky seam on all sides of the pad.Also, mine was 5mm narrower than advertised length - which seems to be a common complaint with this brand after reading the reviews - and after I measured my keyboards, I realized this pad is narrower than all of them. A pad slightly wider than your keyboard doesn't feel like a big deal, but the wrist pad narrower than the keyboard looks and feels lame. (Height was as advertised - felt very good for mechanical keyboard)

I've been using this every day for about a year and a half, now, and it's still in perfect condition. The only thing that's changed is that it's actually smoother and more comfortable than when I first got it. It looks great in front of my Ducky Legend keyboard because they grey color matches quite well, and I'll never go back to not having wrist support.2019 EDIT - So after four years I did end up replacing this. It didn't have any major failures, but the pad had started to wear down around the high usage areas (wrist area under WASD) and I felt it was time to upgrade. I went with a Glorious padded wrist wrest this time, hopefully it holds up as long as my Grafiti pad did!

Love it! I replaced the my old cloth-topped Grifiti Pad with this one.It felt a little strange at first, but very quickly I got used to it, and I prefer it. I think it is much less likely to peel (why I bought a replacement), so I am looking forward to using it for a long time.At first, it will feel "sticky" - especially compared to the cloth-top. This gradually goes away as you get used to the new top, it does take more force to slide your hand back and forth.Overall, I'm thrilled with this pad. I find it more comfortable on my hands, less irritating on my skin, and it is much easier to clean.

Not a bad wrist rest. The one I got is actually 16 2/16 inches long and not a full 17 inches. I don't know if they all come like that or mine was just an anomaly, but that's all right, it works fine for me. It does have a strong smell when you first take it out of the package. It smells like new tires, but the smell fades away over time (I'm on day 3 with it and I can barely smell it now). I've read other reviews of people saying they start to fall apart after X-amount of months, if that happens with mine I'll update this review.

It is good. I use a G710+ which is actually about 1.5 inches wider than this wrist pad. That isn't too much of a problem though.After about 3 weeks of use I have to say I have grown used to the pad. At first I didn't like that it had a square edge that sort of dug into my wrist, but once I got my chair to the right height that wasn't a problem.Finally, I got the black color. It is prone to showing any spilled liquid/oil marks. It can be cleaned easily with a damp towel.Overall, a good product.

The pad is great, very comfortable.Furthermore, the customer service is top notch. The one I got from Amazon looked like it was moderately used; it was a bit warped, about an inch shorter than spec, and had subtle streaks as if someone rubbed it clean. I contacted Grifiti support with some photos and they immediately issued me a replacement which arrived 3 days later.I've had it for over a month now and I really like it. The new style "black - smooth skin" is a pleasant texture, and it doesn't have any fabric layer at the top to peel off as you might see mentioned in other reviews.

I received twice the 14" instead of 17" because the barcode on the envelope was wrong (it had 17" written on top)... I purchased it elsewhere and I got the right one that is what I was looking for for my custom mechanical keyboard. I assume a mistake Grifiti and not on Amazon that messed up the warehouse.

Wrist rest came folded in half, so there is a giant divot in the center. This makes comfortable use nearly impossible. Also, it does not go the entire distance of a normal keyboard with a 10 key. It is about 2" short. I am not using a large keyboard either. It is a Logitech G413 Carbon. It has a rubbery smell to it as well, but that it not a big deal. I am sure it will dissipate, and it isn't that strong anyway. I will keep this for a week and see if thew divot poofs back up.

I have carpal tunnel and typing on my keyboard after some time hurts my wrists, this wrist pad is the best! I wish I had gotten it sooner. it's very comfortable and I can type for much longer without any pain
