The Huntress

Evocative and haunting. My fave 'Baebes' so far.
I absolutely adore this album. Intricately woven vocal lines, textures and rhythms, performed with precision and expertise. Beautiful tunes, evocative (and often haunting) lyrics, and stunning voices one and all. I have a few other Medieaval Baebes albums, but this is the one I find myself wanting to listen to the most often. I liked it so much I bought a 2nd copy for a birthday present. Not sure I care for the odd spoken word about witches, but that doesn't mar my overall liking for this brilliant album.

Lovely mediaevally songs
Any Mediaeval Baebes release is a welcome addition. Nice artwork and double-album format. Delivered on time and in good condition.

Huntress
Watch the video of Veni Veni Bella - fab ladies both vocally and very stunning to look at. A good easy listening album but not to all tastes.

witches do it again
I don;t think that this group are fully appreciated by the so called serious music press but this again is the group showing they have real talent.

Easy listening
Listened on Amazon Music, but glad I didn't shell out to buy the CD. This falls well short of their heyday with Mirabilis or The Rose. There's nothing really to dislike, but that's the whole thing - it's all rather bland and lacklustre. The tracks are melodic, but instantly forgettable. The exception was the exotic, Middle Eastern sounding Clasp of the Lion, but even then, I wasn't sure Katharine Blake's vocals were quite up to it. She's not off-key I don't think, but something, something...was lacking. I think what it may boil down to is that it's not her true genre, and it shows. Authentic, classically trained Middle Eastern singers have done this kind of thing better. But I suppose similar goes for most of the Baebes' output. It's sort of almost classical, yet not quite.

The Huntress
Another good album. These girls can do no wrong! A bit more laid back than there other albums - ideal for chillin' out. Highly recommend.

Me llegó antes de lo marcado.
Muy buen CD, llego antes de lo indicado, y fue mucha mi alegría me llegó el 24 de diciembre. Ya lo escuché y esta padre, un sonido excelente, por algo soy fan de este grupo.

Another great Album from Mediaeval Baebes
This is exactly what I've come to expect from this group. I'm a big fan of celtic/mediaeval styles of music and this particular group never seems to disappoint. The language of the pieces varys and always seems to be appropriate to the period and area it's from. Some of the pieces are sung in the original Latin or other mediaeval languages in addition to english. This gives whole album the feel that I'm looking for in this type of music. This particular album is difficult to find here in the US so I was very happy to find out here on Amazon.

Will make you long for the Renfaire
I am a long time fan of the Mediaeval Baebes and if you are also, you will be happy with this album. If you haven't heard their music, this is the type of music you would expect to hear at a renaissance festival but it also makes great background music. Beautiful feminine vocals and a very dreamy overall sound.

Love The Huntress!
Mediaeval Baebes -- simply the best! And though this album is less produced than say, Mirabilis or The Rose, the songs are lovely and so are the arrangements. But I still look forward to their ultra complex arrangements which put me in hyperspace.

The Huntress CD has met all my expectations
I couldn't be happier with this CD. The way the ladies harmonize is incredible. I would recommend this to anyone. If you like Celtic Woman then you will love these ladies. Their music puts you in a relaxed, happy mood.
