disintegrated after only a few weeks/ caused major flood and contaminated water
i have had aquariums and ponds for forty years and am fanatical about it, i currently have over 20 tanks 20-300 gal and a few ponds largest 5000gallons. for the past 20 years i have been making my own filters. point being i am no rookie. i bought this product to replace previous product that i have been rinsing and reusing for between 5-10 years and that over a long period and 10s of rinses had gotten misshapen or worn slightly. i rinse my pond padding monthly . this crap completely disintegrated and all that remained was a few areas where the water hadnt contacted the pad. i also had this wrapping an overflow uptube in a tank with built in overflow. (uptube = drilled out pvc). As with my previous productthis was zip tied to the tube top and bottom and wrapped around an airy plastic inner mesh that is there to prevent the pad from clogging the drilled pvc. when i tried to remove the wrapped pvc to rinse it as have done for30 years without issue the padding fell off mostly disintegrated and got stuck in the bottom of my overflow. my hands are too big to fit in there so i used a pole gripper but each time i got a hold of the crap pad it would just fall apart and clog it more. this was in a stacked tank 4 high 2nd from bottom and i wound up with about 30gallons all over the floor. plus i had to take apart the tanks and stand that has been running without incident for 18 years (since i moved to my current house) and remove the top two tanks move all the fish and reset it all up. Cost me almost a full day. who knows what future damage may happen due to the disintegration into my aquarium water. i have done weekly 30% water changes to get this crap out of my water . all in all this garbage has cost me a couple hundred in extra water and minimum 16 hours of time to completely eradicate this crap from my aquariums and ponds, Do Not Buy

This material is VERY efficient
I have had a garden pond since 1992. Over the years I have tried just about every kind of filter material I could find. I had just purchased a new Tetra 1000 GPH pump and wanted to find a very efficient filter material for the filter box. I purchased this product and the first thing I noted was that it is so dense/strong I could not cut it with a sharp pair of scissors. I had to use a utility knife with a new blade and a tee square to cut the shape(s) squarely. It turns out that this material is SO EFFICIENT I am having to clean it every 3-4 days because the muck it removes from the water clogs the material and my waterfall slows way down. Perhaps when the pond is VERY Clean I won't have to do the cleaning so often? I hope so!

Super efficient!
This would be the equivalent of a large pore filter material. I made a filter box out of a milk crate using one roll of this, fits 6 sides perfectly, with the pump inside. Hose it down every 2weeks, the filters own pad stays almost perfectly clean! Seems to be holding up well in terms of not getting flat. Nice dark blue color. Made in USA - Yeah!

Love this stuff
Captures a lot of waste, easy to clean and stands up to many cleanings before needing to be replaced. This is now my go-to filter media along with some finer stuff to catch the smallest waste particles

Koi Pond Filter by Rigid
Better than I expected. Coarse filtering media that’s holding together pretty well. I’m using product with my koi aquaponics system. Good value and price.

Little more than a screen
Bought for 1500 gal water feature with 3- 24" waterfall drops 12 ft stream and 800 gallon fish/plant pond. Bit coarse, and expensive, for the limited filtration it provides. Ended up using it as a separation layer between materials that really do filter. Will not buy again with same expectations.
